Magnuson vs. whipple superchargers.....
Thoughts, pros n cons, etc....
Whipple "claims" more hp to the ground out of the box. But doesn't say at what psi boost level. Magnuson clearly indicates @ 6 psi 550hp/510ftlbs. |

My thought is I am waiting to see which one is better so I can find out which one to throw my money at! Can't wait to see if the whipple claims are true or not! So to sum up my post.. +1

Don't go off of the HP claim...that's not what makes one better than another. Any company that launches a SC onto the market is going to adjust their pulley size to slightly bump up their output over the others, or worse they could offer a garbage tune and brute force it. Just wait for some reviews so you can see which is really better. On paper it should be better, but I don't think anyone's seen how it's designed yet other than it using the same rotor and being larger.

Not to get this post off topic, between Magnuson & Whipple, but if out of the box H/P is what your looking at the E-Force is 580 rwhp, 548 ft/lbs.
Features Include: Increases the performance to 580 hp and 548 ft-lbs. of torque to the rear wheels on a manual transmission Camaro, for an improvement of 140 hp and 124 ft-lbs. of torque No cutting or modification to stock body or hood Features Eaton® Gen VI 2300 TVS rotor assembly Integrated bypass valve for little to no decrease in fuel economy 100,000 mile self-contained oiling system Stage 1 systems are 50 State Emissions Legal (E.O. Number pending) and are also eligible for a FREE 3-Year/36,000 mile Limited Powertrain Warranty provided by Edelbrock Made in USA for absolute quality and performance

Have you gotten to the track with it E-Ray? I wanna see someone with the Edelbrock run it to get a good time reference, as opposed to the only video of one available now running just barely better than stock.

On a stock motor, any of these kits have enough ooomph to exceed the stock engine's capabilities. Pick the one you like the looks of best, has the best customer service, best price, etc.
I've had a Magnuson on my 4Runner as well as my Challenger and both have been flawless. The Challenger has a built motor so I've pushed the Magnuson hard and not had a single issue. The car runs 10.80s at 128-130MPH in the 1/4 mile and is a 6 speed manual to boot. Magnuson seem to also be more involved in customer events, so they get kudos for that in my book. I actually hung out with them yesterday at LSFest where they had their 2016 A8 running 10.90s at Beech Bend Raceway, then saw them filling up at a local gas station as I was going home and talked to the guys and the car is being driven to Florida for an event, then to GA for the 1/2 Mile race. That's good stuff right there. |

Can't wait to see them in GA for the 1/2 mile so I can show them what my Maggie power can do.
