Limited slip differential
Does anyone know if all models come with the limited slip differential.
I remember my old 77 Camaro had a one wheel peel, it had a 305 motor and was automatic. It laid a path of rubber a mile long, but only wore out one tire a week. |

the SS M6 and A6 both get lsd
the v6 M6 gets lsd the v6 A6 does not get lsd

because most people who are buying a v6 A6 wont need lsd. the v6/a6 cars are aimed more at the daily drivers that wont push the car that hard

Has anyone got together the parts to convert an open to a lsd? I went to my dealer and they were clueless on the required parts. I bought a 2LT specifically to super or turbo charge. The stock rear end isn't going to work.

not right now. we've been told that the V6 rear ends are actually different sizes (A6 vs M6). that being said, I dont know if thats internal component sizing or exterior physical sizing thats different. and right now there are no available options for rear gear swaps.

no idea. however, if our v6 and v8 members would go and take a few measurements for us.... we might be able to find out.

Does anyone know if the SS and the V6 manual share the same LSD?

Yes it does, but the V6 A6 diff case housing is physically smaller than a case that comes from an SS. If you have an auto and want to upgrade to LSD, then you have to change out the entire center section.
