No Auto Door Unlock Options

Hey all, just have a quick question regarding the Auto Door Unlock option.

On all of my past cars, if the car provides functionality to keep the door locked after I shut the car off, I usually enable it for peace of mind.

6th Gen Camaros are supposed to have this function as well. I read the Owner's Manual and it says that I can change the door unlocking behaviour under Settings -> Power Door Locks. For some reason, however, I don't see this option. All I see are the Open Door Anti Lock Out and Delayed Door Lock options(which disappears when Open Door Anti Lock Out is enabled, and it's designed to do so).

So am I missing something here? Couldn't find the option under other menus, either. Anyone can chime in on this?

So I assume this is a problem only I see?

Photos attached.

Not a big deal, but would still like to figure it out.

I dont have a 1le to verify if maybe that's a trim thing vs a problem specific to you.

there should be all kinds of settings related to passive lock / unlock.

I assume you dived into each menu looking for something along those lines just in case it's not in the submenu you are currently in for some reason?

That seems like a rather odd thing to not include on the 1LE, though.

I am pretty sure I checked all menus, but I can double-check later today just to be sure.

I have those settings in my '19 1LE. I had it enabled for a little while - you're talking about the ability to leave the car & it'll lock itself, right?

Maybe go to a dealership & ask them to reflash your BCM / infotainment?

So I double-checked last night and no, don't see that option anywhere.

I don't have trouble with passive locking(which is what you described). I just want the doors to still be locked after I turn off the ignition instead of unlocking themselves, for safety concerns.

Back when I was a noob manual trans driver, I bought a 99 Corolla to learn on. I was at a stop sign one night and I took a while to figure out how to get it going, while I didn't realize that the doors are unlocked. So this random girl opened the passenger side door and sat in the car, and I was really confused. Didn't remember how the conversation went, and my 2 guesses are either she was a hooker(didn't look like one) or she got in a wrong car(those 8th Gen Corollas are pretty common). She didn't look dangerous, but it's pretty sketchy still.

Anyway, I want it so that I can leave the door locked while I shut the car off to wait for someone just to be safe. The Owner's Manual mentions such a setting but I am not seeing it.

But yeah, I will talk to the local GM dealer as well just to confirm.

the owners manual says it's a setting called "Auto Door Unlock"

it should be in the menu you screenshotted. My 2016 manual has it described on page 144

it's described as controlling exactly the thing you want.

Yep, and it's not in this menu, somehow, which is why I am scratching my head and asking here.

Good to know it's supposed to be here, though.

I am missing the second one in the photo.

I talked to the dealer a few days back and surprise surprise, nobody knows.

I am wondering if this is like an A8/A10-only feature and M6 doesn't have it, even though this shouldn't really be related to the transmission. Anyone with an M6 that can share a photo?

Sent from toaster or something

My 2019 with A8 don’t have this option either.

I read the manual again and it seems like M6 should still have this feature. So maybe it's related to infotainment updates? Random guesses here.

The only other thing might be another setting that seems to be unrelated. I will play around with it once I have my Camaro back from the dealer when the PDR G-meter adjustment is done.

I'd ask the dealer to check your infotainment version, if I remember correctly, the 2019 doesn't yet have OTA updates for the software itself.

(Judging by your second screenshot it seems MyLink 3.0 designers chose to hide menu items that aren't applicable in a specific context, which is a huge letdown for discoverability, I strongly prefer graying out or ghosting with a tooltip/explanation for this very reason—it's possible that the item is hidden because of the state of another setting, but how on Earth will you figure out which one or whether even that's the case...)

Do you know what the updates are then? I have had two OTA since I bought the car almost one year ago and I thought it was software updates. Thanks
