I plan to take my car out of winter storage within the next few weeks. I was wondering if anyone primes the engine oil prior to the first engine start after long storage periods? I know that in my Jeep, I can hold the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking and it will not start. Many people use this method to prime an engine that has sat for an extended period. Anyone do this on their Camaro, or is it not really necessary? Just hoping to avoid any unnecessary engine wear.

It’s not really necessary, but it’s doable on the Camaro. They call it flood clearing. We have Chevy fleet vehicles with 200,000 miles that get abused every day, so I know GM makes a good engine. A cold start after a layover will not hurt it.

Yeah, just wanted to make sure it's the same deal on the Camaro. Don't want to start a cold engine at full throttle by mistake
