I appreciate the heads up. I did a nationwide search and I printed a couple of them off. I will ask the dealer about them. Of course all the ZLEs were 6 speeds, but many could be had for 63-65K with MSRPs in the low 70's with about 10-12K off each one. There are no serious rebates on the car, yet these are thousands back of invoice. Interesting. PS there are a lot of 2018 ZL1's that need a home across the US.

Only regret is wanting the latest and greatest and not holding out a bit to get a better deal. I bought my A10 18' ZL1 in October 2017 for 65K and it had just shy of a 70K sticker price. At the the time I thought I got a good deal and maybe I did, my local Ford dealer was still asking 5K over sticker for non R GT350's.
Hopefully I don't succumb to the same urge when the GT500 is finally released. This generation ZL1 is so damn good it's hard to believe Chevy will be able to improve upon it without going dual clutch and shedding a bunch of weight. I might be the only one on this forum who doesn't think the ZL1 needs more power. |

No regrets on my end. Prob one of the funnest cars I've ever owned. Great modding platform too. Car is a beast under crazy boost. Buy one now with these massive discounts for March. I see people getting them for low to mid $50k. I'd be all over it.

I just got a 2017 Z that had 422 miles on it yesterday for about $53,000. I traded my ‘16 2SS in and a good down payment and no I don’t regret getting mine. It was a one owner Z and everything was with the car when I got it. It was at the Chevy dealer in Greer SC near Greenville and I live 100 miles southwest of Atlanta. It was a very fun drive coming back home yesterday evening especially since it has a 6 speed! So my advice is if you can find a good used Z to buy then you can save some money on the cost of a new one. I saved around $14,000 over buying new and the car is considered new/used condition with just so few miles. I really got a good deal and am very satisfied with it.

1. Better visibility. 2. A usable back seat. The ZL1 is a 2+0. 3. Make it look as good looking as the new GT500. I sure won't sell my ZL1 to get one, but if I was buying a ZL1 right now I would wait to drive the GT500 first. But i guess that would not be in your budget.

I'm very satisfied w my '18 ZL1 1LE, but if I had purchased it as a daily driver rather than my track toy I'd probably have some regret. The ride/tire combo are a bit tough for me on normal streets and Oregon weather.
Jordan at Garage Therapy in NC is caging and harnessing mine right now though so life is good!! |

Anyone here ever own a 03/04 cobra? I picked one up 3 years ago, it makes ~525whp and I honestly love it as a daily during the summer, but I'm planning on selling my cobra to fund the new Z I ordered.
I am questioning my decision from time to time, can anyone relate to my situation?

I had a 94 cobra.. sn 95.. I sold it , bought a 2018 zl1 m6.. got tired of the bog.. But as I've stated in other posts.. I wanted something for 1/4 mile and a six speed manual won't cut it.. plus it has 4 seats.. I didn't want the extra weight.. I sold it and bought a A8 c7.. I realized that the corvette was the car for me.. I never have been a Vette guy but the c7is by far the most impressing one. But as most or all if not all have stated it's what you are doing with your car... 0-60 time says it all if you are looking for speed out of the two Last edited by Rapidfire; 03-12-2019 at 08:01 PM. |

If I was in your situation, I would need a manual, and I wouldn't be interested in older vehicles. So, that would be either a manual C7 grand sport or manual gen 6 ZL1.
I would go with the ZL1, if you must buy right now. But if you are more of the Corvette persuasion, I wouldn't buy a C7 until I see the C8, personally. I can envision the OP having serious C8 envy. Could you hold yourself back until C8 comes out? |
