New member - picked up my first Camaro last night! (SS 1LE!!)

I was the happy owner of a 2015 Mustang GT, after having owned a '14 GT as well, until a lady in a Kia killed my horse...

So then I decided to test drive a bunch of stuff and figure out if I wanted another Mustang or something different. I test drove a Challenger Scat Pack, 2018 Mustang, Focus RS, and a 2018 Camaro SS. Results:

Challenger: Went into it thinking I'd like this one most. Liked it the least. Torque for days. Took those same days to complete a turn.

Focus RS: FUN. Can corner violently. Almost as violent as the reaction from my wife and everyone I know about me even considering a Focus. Also, missing half an engine.

2018 Mustang GT: Much like my 2015, my first thought was, "I can tune it to fix lack of low-end, and improve the suspension to fix roll/cornering." Great car, but I couldn't help feeling like I didn't want a car I immediately wanted to improve upon.

2018 Camaro SS: I actually went into it thinking I'd like it least. Liked it most. Torque for days. Turns in an instant. Visibility is not really an issue for me like I thought it'd be after the stories.

So once the decision was made, I went looking. I found an excellent deal on a 2018 1SS 1LE, and here I am now. I could not be happier with this car, and the 1LE is easily the best handling and best feeling car I've ever driven. Unlike the last several cars I've owned, there is really nothing that I want to change about the car at all. And she's so pretty! Love this car, and looking forward to being part of the Camaro community now.

Congrats and welcome aboard! I think if more people test drove these cars, they would fall in love with them like you have.

Sorry to hear about your Mustang. Damn Kias.

Credit to the Mustang. I didn't get injured, and I hit her hard enough to break off the front wheel and shove it through the fender toward the engine.

As THE target market for this car (multiple-time owner of a competitor's car), I will say that GM did not do a good job of marketing it to me. You're absolutely correct about the test drive. It just seems with the 6th gens of each that the Camaro is just a better car, but I had to figure that out on my own.

I have, however, seen 1,000,000,000,000 commercials with "real people" and a #$% Cruze on TV... lol

Congrats and welcome to the Camaro family. I went through the same testing with the Challenger and Mustang... Came to the same conclusion and ended up with the exact same car, color and all.

These commercials are horrible. I don't know what Chevy's marketing team is thinking, this is a terrible way to market their vehicle. I get more from a commercial if they just show the damn car. Having panning shots of the exterior and interior and tell me why the car is great. I don't need to see "real peoples'" reactions.

Anywho, welcome to the club! I couldn't be any happier with my SS. Plenty of power and I love the HBM paint. I get a lot of compliments on the color.

I live in Melbourne, but I drove down to AutoNation in Pembroke for the car yesterday. Best deal of anywhere I could find in the state. Was also one of the closest 1LEs I found. The next was going to be a drive to Bradenton for a white one. Glad I got the HBM though. Incredible color. Definitely not a common car around here.

1st: Welcome aboard!!

2nd: Sorry about your Mustang. Glad you weren't hurt. Cars can be replaced, but people...

3rd: WE NEED PICTURES!!!!

4th: Sorry I yelled at you.

5th: Totally agree about the advertising. Hasn't Chevy noticed that America has changed. Everywhere you go online, all folks want to do is put other people down for their opinions. It's become our national past-time. So, Chevy makes commercials featuring other peoples opinions....

6th: Are you planning to go to the track (road course or 1/4 mile)? This thing REALLY shines as you get near the limits. So easy to drive, so easy to drive fast, and you don't really need to modify anything. You can always mod it cosmetically to personalize it though...
