Anyone try out the Nitto NT555RII's yet?

https://www.nittotire.com/competitio...g-radial-tire/
Nitto released a updated version of the NT555R and it looks like it could be a pretty good tire that provides good dry traction and some wet traction. There is some people on Mustang6G that have gotten it and it seems to be getting some good reviews over there. I'm running NT555G2's on my car right now and they're getting pretty worn and am thinking of replacing the rears with this tire.

I’m running the NT555R drag radials now and like them. Interested to see what the differences are.

I'll get them next year (as I'm on a new set of 555Rs now). Definitely like the new "W" speed rating - good up to 168.

Justin Keith(Stangkillr on YT) just put a set on his HC Charger. Said they hook better then the Street R's on that he had on his Challenger. I will be buying a set soon as my 555r's are shot.

Curious to see how these do. I had 555R's on my '97 Z28 and they were great, even did alright in rain and cooler weather as long as you didn't push them. These look much more street friendly.

Yes...I think what he said might apply to the street but not at the track. I don't think anything will outperform Street R's at the track in a drag radial.

Looks like they are "marketed" to be more of a street friendly update of the 555R? Especially if they are rating them at 100 treadwear. Looks like a lot of marketing hype, but the really good news is that it looks like they come in all kinds of sizes including our stock size so they will properly fit a SS stock wheel.

They are marketed as a overall improvement in dry traction. Both are 100 wear. The 305/35/20 fits the stock wheel fine.

I thought a 305 was too wide for the 9.5" stock SS wheel according to most tire calculator recommendations?

I’d like to see a true comparison. I have a feeling he is a bit jaded about the review when he has a pallet full of tires. Know what I mean.

Nittos tend to run a hair narrower. There are a couple of threads about guys running the NT555R in 305 size on stock SS rear wheels. I’m running them and they are great.
