Custom Lowside Fuel System

We installed a custom lowside auxiliary fuel system this past weekend. -10 line out of the tank to Holley filter and pump. -6 line all the way up to the high side pump. Top line in the first pic is stock line, bottom line going into the "Y" fitting is the -6 line from the aux pump. We ran that line next to the stock hard lines. Stock line and aux line are tied into a "Y" fitting before entering the DSX flex fuel sensor. Then from sensor directly into the LT4 high side. This eliminated the stock crossover and inlet line. Fittings and hose were Vibrant.

the last bend into the pump, do you think that is better or the factory lt4 hard line? I heard ligenfelter has one out also.

The rest looks super!

I bought an LT4 inlet line and decided on this method instead. If you look at DSX and Skidmark, both use a 180 degree fitting off the aux pump and then tie in downstream. We decided to run the 2nd line all the way to the engine compartment and tie in there. The fitting on the HPFP is 150 degree. Pressures were fantastic on the dyno runs.

BTW, we used panel bond adhesive on the 90 degree tank fitting rather than pipe dope. Guarantee the sucker will not come out or leak!!

parbreak would you mind sharing the total cost for the complete setup, and how are you triggering the pump to flow?

Well my son works at a speed shop so many of the items were got at cost, but the fittings and hoses were $120 with a LOT of hose left over. We went WAY overboard with Holley 12-600 pump and filter. Walbro and Bosch are less I believe. All in was less than $600 including pump, filter, fittings, lines, relay and Hobbs switch. Keep in mind that we needed some extra fittings to tie in the flex fuel sensor. It could be done for less by using a cheaper pump and tee-ing into the stock fuel line like DSX and Skidmark do.

It is activated by an adjustable Hobbs Switch mounted in my vacuum block.

If anyone wants wiring instructions for the relay/Hobbs activation let me know. We used ground side switching.

thanks, what was the number for the fitting that ties into the HPFP? (I'm assuming there is something after the 150 degree and before the HPFP.

It's a -6 Male flare to 3/8 EFI disconnect. Vibrant 16886.

Ohhhh i like this a lot. Did you use a 3/8 x -6 fuel line fitting going from the factory feed line in the engine bay to a short section of -6 braided hose?

I like the Y a lot, I like running the full -6 into the HPFP.

Yes. I believe it was 120 degree. The factory feed from the tank is oriented forward, so we needed to get the short hose connecting to the E sensor to run along the firewall. Overall it makes for a very clean install.
