Cleaning white residue from standard Brembo calipers

Well, I sprayed some wheel cleaner that our detailers use at our dealership on my wheels and calipers then pressure washed them several times. Crazy white residue is on all 4 calipers now. Last night and scrubbed them with a sponge and normal Meguiars car wash soap and water. Seems to look worse. What can I use to clean these frickin calipers? My Mustang Brembos never did this. Must be a different finish on them.

Use a true iron remover like iron-x or sonax wheel cleaner plus, then soap and water.
Both at autogeek.net

I got tired of the ashy grey look on the calipers and rotor hats and painted them. It's an easy procedure.

Newegg's wasn't the plus and I found it with free shipping for $18.99 from autobodynow. Ordered, we shall see how it does.

The Sonax wheel cleaner plus did nothing to clean the residue off my calipers. I guess I'll try removing each wheel, spray them down and scrub with a plastic bristle brush, and rinse one more time.

I justed removed a wheel and soaked the caliper, then brushed with a mild plastic bristle brush and still dried with a white residue. This stuff definitely did nothing for these calipers. There has to be something that will work. I even dried them with a microfiber towel. I guess I didn't use soap and water afterwards, but I rinsed them like a freak.

I'd just go ahead and paint them. Look on Amazon for a G2 caliper kit black. It's very simple to do not hard at all. Look for a YouTube video how to.....

I'm also thinking of going to the dealer because there were already stains on them when I bought it. Chevy has to know there's an issue with them. I'll paint them if it comes down to it. They look like s**T.

I cleaned my Rims with McGuires HotRims last week and it left the same white ash stains you speak of on my calipers. I'm pissed that this did this to my poor clalipers!

My calipers were like this when I bought the car last year, and I've never been able to get them fully clean :/ I plan to paint them at some point in the near future.

Yeah first wash and used McGuiers wheel cleaner and left unremovable white stains. Just paint them now is all you can do and what needs to be done. I thought my calipers may have been too hot but the calipers have a matt paint with no clear coat. Maybe to dissipate heat better than with a clear coat on top?
