Hill Start Assist in my Nemesis!!

Really starting to dislike this feature. I work on a military installation and the entrance has a slight incline that causes this to activate. It really sucks in stop and go traffic while ID checks are conducted. I can smell my clutch burning almost every morning. So wish I could disable it. If it didn't hold so long it would be ok but it won't release when I am letting off the clutch.

So dumb why GM chose to NOT allow this to be turned off, like in other cars (Mustangs, Subaru Imprezas, etc).

Unfortunately the only way to disable this feature is to swap out a part from an automatic Camaro.

Not bashing you but I have no problem with it. Our base also has a slight incline where it engages so just keep practicing. I never smell the clutch burning either. It doesn't take much gas, barely 1000 RPM to get it to disengage and go.

Don't let your car roll back and it won't turn on. Mine hardly ever engages.

I am with the OP. I hate this feature. I spend a lot of time in SF where the streets are not always flat. Because of this feature, I chose to drive another car when in the city.
Have I known about this feature during my test drive (bought it outside the city), I probably would have looked into an L99.

Well that's my experience and I'll take a video if I need to prove. It's not that hard. Obviously depends on the incline but the one here that is enough to engage it doesn't require hardly any gas to go. Even on a flat road, I can slowly let off the clutch without gas and get the car to go at idle, 500 RPM.

Like I said in my opinion and experience and I have no issue with the hill assist. Now do I need it, nope, but it doesn't bother me having it.

Hill Assist. Give me a break. Another sign of the times we live in. I lucked out with my 2010 LS3 which thankfully doesn't have that pansy ass crap on it.

Quit trying to force it. From what I understand it's timed. No matter how much gas you give it.
