Angry Rant: Getting pissed about 56F wheels

I'm not sure if this belongs in this section or not so mods, if it doesn't I'm sorry, feel free to move it accordingly.

I purchased my '16 2SS in the very beginning of April with the ($1,995) option of the gloss black 56F wheels. The car had the standard wheels on it however, because according to the dealer, the 56F gloss black were in quarantine for QC issues. That was fine with me and they assured me that as soon as the quarantine was lifted that they would let me know and I'd get my wheels shortly thereafter.

Well, here we are three months later and I still don't have my wheels. I called the dealer last week about it and they said they'd get ahold of the distributor and call me back. When they called, they apologized and said they're still in quarantine.

Now, I'm not 100% on how these quality control issues and quarantines are dealt with, but I've been seeing a lot more new camaros (temp tag still) with these wheels on them lately. About a week or two before I called the dealer I sent Becky a message asking if she knew about any issues still going on about the 56F gloss black wheels and she said that there isn't anymore and they've been shipping and receiving them just fine and that I should get ahold of my dealer... and that's why I did. I'm beginning to lose my patience with this and I'm don't really even know if I can do anything about this. Can anyone shed some light into why this is happening or have any advice other than "be patient"?

Mine showed up with the car. No issues with them either. Still look perfect. Odd.

It is not a quarantine issue/ quality issue. It is a hold on the rims as they need to clear out more of the other options first.

Got my wheels shortly before my 2SS was delivered (12/24/15) which I originally ordered 8/8/15. Not a problem except that it took nearly 5 months for my Camaro to arrive. Not sure what benefit it would serve the dealer in delaying the LPO wheels.

I also have the 56F's.
I love the look, but in hindsight, I should have just taken the 56R or 56W's at $200 and had them powder coated for $500. Would have saved myself $1400 and had a more durable finish then paint.

I wanted these, but when my dealer said that they would have to send back the stock rims and I could not keep them, I decided I would order them later. However, as the car has spent almost as much time at the shop as my driveway, I have not spent the money yet.

Get Your Money back, go out and buy some aftermarket rims from one of the excellent vendors here.
They will cost about $1500 - $1900 for a set and look 200X better.
Not to mention lighter and have a proper offset.

I would agree. I even argued with Customer Relations Manager and I was told that they always have to send those parts back. I did order the red knee pads for the car, and I was not able to get the stock black ones back either. So, on the rims, decided it was better to get them later to make sure I could keep the original set.

56F Wheels

I did not have a problem with my rims but two tires were defective. I had the dealership get new tires in before I took delivery. There was horrible vibrations over 30 mph but after replacing the tires all is good. I am happy with my purchase, also I could not keep the old wheels the dealership said they have to ship back to GM.

Anyone think if i offered to get the grey with machined face ($200) instead and have credit for parts or whatever (hello anniversary grille) that they'd go for it?

I would say they would. They would be happy to keep your money. Get the Grill and front splitter then wait for the smoked tail lights.
