Performance Data Recorder functions
I am unable to get any sound recorded when setting the PDR on the Track function. Can anyone tell me how to set the app to get sound along with the video...and/or adjust the sound level?

I believe the audio portion of a PDR recording is collected from the microphones on the A pillars of the car. If you don't have any audio on the videos, is it possible those mics have been disconnected? Does you voice commands work for the phone?

If you are watching playback from the car, the audio is controlled by the sound system adjustment knob, I believe. I don't watch the videos from the car, so I don't know that for sure.

I think you have to have it selected from the menu to record audio.
Audio volume is controlled by the volume knob in the car when you rewatch a video. Recorded audio is set and you cannot adjust it. With a Mac, I have no clue but I would assume that all you need to do is open the file and audio should play. As long as you have the car know that you want it to record audio. |

The file has to be converted to a different format in order for the audio to work on an Apple product.

If you have no sound on your PDR videos when playing back on an Apple Device...
You can do this process on a Mac or PC. 1. VLC -> File -> Convert/Stream 2. Open media... -> <select your PDR .mp4 file> 3. Select 'Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)' profile 4. Click 'Customize...' 5. Video codec -> check 'Keep original video track' 6. Audio codec -> check 'Keep original audio track' 7. Click 'Apply' 8. Chose your destination location and filename 9. Click 'Save' http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I have very similar issues with all the video from my BlackVue camera setup. I typically load the videos up to my google drive account and watch from there and the sound always works. If I download straight to a computer or try to watch on my phone I never have any sound. My PDR videos I have to do the same way for some reason.

Free fix for PDR sound
Copy the file from card and drop it into to this free product. It will add the audio back in. Tell it where to save to. Works for almost all video and audio formats.
