Problems

Anyone else had any issues with their cars? Mom just bought a '16 2SS back in march. So far it's had warped rotors with less than 500mi on it, it's been painted 3 times, the torque converter was just replaced, and when it was delivered, they had the Volt software installed on the MyLink system. This may be just a bad egg though.

Take a look at the window sticker. They only built a handful of hybrid Camaro SS' before putting them on hold. The warped rotors are probably from the regenerative braking, torque converter misaligned electric motor and Volt software speaks for itself.

I have no idea on the paint and I might just be full of sh!t on the rest.

You had me going for a quick second because all of those do kind of line up to sounding like a chain reaction... Maybe because the computer thought it was a Volt every time you let off the throttle it applied the brakes like electric cars do which prematurely wore out the rotors?

How the hell did they put a Volt software into a Camaro? I don't think they're even built in the same factory... Or are they?.

Paint is a very common issue on these, Mine has actually been at the paint shop/body shop since the 2nd getting both quarter panels, A pillars and trunk lid repainted for clear coat problems... But return issues is the fault of who ever did the prep work and paint, I'm hoping they do a good job on mine so I don't have to constantly keep going back or there will be hell to pay. I'm paid to be a quality inspector at a car manufacturing plant so I won't settle for anything less than perfect.

Warped rotors and bad torque converter? Did she let you drive it?

My mom tore the passenger side mirror off her car a few times backing out of the garage. Messed up the garage too, but she drove a Buick. Oh, that poor Buick took a beating.

Regenerative brakes on electric cars do not use the normal brakes and would have zero affect on rotors (which may not even exist on some electric cars). The electric motor is reverse wired to act as a generator to recharge the battery bank.

I think the OP is

Hoping no one else has these types of problems, because these cars are pretty badass. Although, concerning the torque converter issue, our Chevy dealer has said that they've had Camaros and Corvettes coming in all the time for the same issue.

I've had mine for 2.5 months, 2.5K miles, and no major issues like that. When I take it in for an oil change, I'll have them take care of these warranty issues, but they can all wait.

trunk lid slightly misaligned (no rubbing though)
brief squeak when the tonneau cover starts to open up
passenger seat recline motor labors excessively

my mom got mad at dad on a road trip back in 69 from connecticut to florida.somewhere in new jersey he pulled over to let her drive, said something shitty about her driving too slow and it was on...66 ford station wagon with 390 4v,c6 trans, and 3:91 positrac.mom had only gone about 1/4 of a mile when the state trooper clocked her at 91 in a 70.i like to remind her about it sometimes.

You mean this noise? - https://youtu.be/0i2r4lLFOIE

Yea it's a very common problem and make sure you check it the next day after they fix it on a cold start and see if the noise is gone. Sucks you Mom has to go through all that!
