Mine's back in for round two. Had mine flushed in April of 2016. It quit groaning until it got cold again. This time around it was nowhere near as bad but it has gotten louder recently as it's gotten colder. Took it back in this week and was told that I was supposed to change the rear end fluid and brake fluid every 36K as part of normal maintenance. They then asked me if I wanted to pay for it to be done. I told them to fix the groan first then I would consider doing the maintenance items.

This is pretty crazy, I mean how stupid do they think people are? How are they going to look in the diff without changing the fluid?

I did check the maintainance schedule and the brake fluid is 3 year / 45K as well as the trans and rear end so there was some truth there but at the rate I'm going with the trans/torque converter being flushed for shudder and the rear end being changed for the second time for groan I should be good for another 45K. So the downside is they've fixed neither of these problems so far but the upside is that it looks like all I'll need to do this spring is flush the brake fluid to be up on the maintenance.....

Update- oil is now in taking in Thursday for the flush and end of year oil change.
Will take home and put into hibernation as snow is predicted for the weekend here in WI.

I don't believe a fluid flush will fix the diff noise, just like the fluid flush in the trans don't fix the converter shudder. When cold(below 50) these diffs are just gonna make some noise until the fluid warms up.

In my case it did fix it. Unless they did something else, I don't hear the noise anymore.
