Help! Headers and Solos

Need expert help.

Removed current manifolds and cats. Calling it a day for now and having a cold Blue Moon!

1. OEM gasket has a wire "cushion" around perimeter that fits into a groove on the OEM cats. Solos have no such groove. Is there a flat gasket I shoulda use instead?

2. Two O2 sensors STUCK (rear in both sides). Hit them with WD40 and waiting and hoping but they are STUCK. How to get them out?

Use PB Blaster. That WD40 won't do anything.

Did you take your spark plugs out..yet? Smart move..saves the "Why is my car miss-firing after replace the headers" thread question... good luck...peace out..

BTW -

yup..flat gasket...I just went to I think autozone and found generic flat 2.5...had to open bolt holes slightly...zero leaks 6 months later...put in better M8 bolts too...

and some times heating the pipe around the O2 can help break it lose...I just put all new in...off of ebay $70 total for all 4 shipped...car is tuned and relies on accurate readings..

#2 leverage or torque.
Leverage = long pipe to apply
torque = wrench plus hammer
I used the latter and they broke free easy

One of my 02 sensors was cross threaded from the Factory and a pita to get out.

That is how one of mine was to. I just bought 2 new ones for the backs when I did my mine. The one that came out hard was shot once I got it out.. threads were a mess.

1 of 4 came out cleanly
1 of 4 came out but galled threads on cat and sensor
2 of 4 will NOT come out. Period.

Looks like I'm getting new sensors. POS design with wrong materials and /or coatings to be this bad and a prevalent problem as far as I can tell from www.
