It's probably a bit late for this ... and your going to think I'm crazy.

But get a 2 x 2 square of black felt. Cut it to match the insert plate. Then glue it (felt side up) to the bottom of the plate. Press it really hard (a press if you have one ... some really heavy books if you don't) while it drys.

Your trying to get just a little edge (very little edge) of the felt to stick out from the insert plate edges. This will help cover that metal to plastic rough edge look.

and should only run you about 4 bucks...

In our product's defense, those pictures make the part look scratched up and really somewhat misrepresent the insert. There is debris and fingerprints all over that piece.

Here is what the item looks like in our photo in our car:

A picture can make something look bad when it really isn't. Please don't rush to judgement from photos. It is a quality product.

I hope I didn't make it sound like I was bagging on your insert. The insert is great .. good lines on the metal and the cuts are nice a crisp .. no spurs .. totally top notch.

I was just tossing out a way to camouflage where the metal and plastic meet. For those who are looking for something like that.

The picture we took above in our post was a very clean car, a very cleaned up part, "the way it should be" taken with plenty of light etc.....
You guys can use your own judgement. I also have more pictures if needed.

Thanks, Roger

The product is quality, for sure... just needs some refining. There are a few fingerprints on it and a little debris in the cupholder, but I wanted to give it a realistic look. I zoomed in on it, so people could see an untouched photo. This is a good idea and will sell plenty if it can be refined properly. IMO, the middle of the insert should be semi open instead of connected.

We also make it with the opening in between. In fact they are going out in the mail tomorrow.

Thanks, Roger

It's all good, I appreciate the clarification. I like your idea about the camouflage where the metal and plastic meet, good suggestion.

I would recommend contacting EBay member "Toddsnake". He said that he manufactures the part himself.
