If you're taking a headcount, it will probably be just me unless I find another friend who wants to ride over there with me. I will be a hunting widow for the next several months...LOL

Lightbulb New Info

Ain’t Tusk great? Well, I’m kinda partial….

I have some news.
I spoke with the Battalion Chief of our wonderful Destin Fire Department.
Barring any emergencies, we made arrangements for a ladder truck to assist us in obtaining an “encompassing pictorial of our large assemblage.”
(They’re gonna help us get up high so we can get some good pictures/video of everyone at our big shindig.)

Seriously, our firemen are top-notch and do a lot for the community here. We appreciate them so much. (and we have had to call on them a couple of times ) They never disappoint.
If any of you are firemen, “Thanks for everything you do.”

We will all meet up in the parking lot between 10:30-11:00.
I expect we will migrate into O’Quigley’s between 11:00 and 11:30 to eat. We have invited the firemen to come have lunch with us at O’Quig’s. They will be there for sure for the picture by 12:30.
We may want to think about just having a couple of pics/videos and just share among everyone via the web. We cannot compromise their time in the event they have a really big emergency and need that extra ladder truck.
So, acatlover13, are you up for using your awesome camera? Or maybe some video? We will have ours there as well. As I’m sure so many others will. I’m not trying to exclude anyone; I am just already aware that she has a great camera and takes good video.
After lunch, we cruise…. (I may need to get an escort with this many of us!)

Ok, 68/2010, we hope to have some playmates for your '68. I have several reports of vintage '67, '68, and '69s being invited to come next weekend.
You may have some folks to talk some serious shop with.

As the “Wheel O’Colors” grows and turns, Tusk says we have at least one of every color, with black leading the way. He has been updating the spreadsheet as needed. (Painkillers are wonderful things for helping you overlook the obvious.) So if you do not see your vehicle or one you posted was coming, PM or post to his attention. He will correct it. He will be updating it again later this weekend.

I have been trying to come up with a design for our group picture. In the past we have done a semi-circle, straight line, staggered.... I've tried balanced color groupings, but with Halloween coming up, hmmmm, how to get back on the home page. I came up with a Jack o'Lantern pattern that looked great and would have worked until we did a recount of the confirmed cars. I'm NOT complaining, but we have soooo many cars coming and more adding on, that I gave up for now. I'll try again closer to the meet to come up with something, otherwise...we can just be 'confetti.' :emoticon7:

Newspapers….I have emailed and called the Destin Log AND the NW Florida Daily News and have gotten no response.
I think they need to be BUZZZZED.
So everyone who has a few minutes, look them up and give them a call. Just ask them if they have any information on the Camaro5 Meet and Greet in Destin. Maybe if we increase the demand for information, they will try to gather the information. (Like dig my number out of the wastebasket and return my call.)
If you actually KNOW someone, or work there, jump right in.
Any volunteers? Post up or PM me.

On a personal note…some of you know that Tusk has been dealing with back issues again. He had rod/screws implanted with hopes that the vertebrae would fuse. They haven’t. The painkillers are not cutting it any more and rather than going right in for a third back surgery, he is going to try the nerve root steroid injection route.
Please keep him in your prayers.

Guess that’s all for now.
Keep your cars clean and your posts current!
(or your cars current and your posts clean…you decide.)

Did you ever find out if the track will be open? I apologize if you already mentioned it in a previous post.

You'll are doing a great job w/ this we are going to have a blast it seems like everytime we get together it gets better and better

We have a small problem. We need somewhere to park our truck and trailer for the day. Do you think we can ask the pub if we can leave it there for the day?

We are praying for Tusk. Hope they find something to make his back feel better.their is nothing worse then your back hurting.

Unfortunately, there is no test & tune that day. They are having a huge motorcycle race that whole weekend.

I went up to SGMP last night for a little test & tune (after I got everything set up at Austins for dinner) .... my car finally broke into the 12.80's!!!

Thanks, it's been fun.
O'Quigley's will be fine with your truck and trailer being there for the day. They're cool. (There's over 150 parking spaces in their section of the lot alone. It's a huge parking lot.)
Tusk says, "Thanks" too. (and so do I) God is good.
