Talking 8...9....10 Down Goes The Charger and possibly The Challenger

If anyone has read the new motortrend magazine march edition. You would then know that, the G8 beat the charger r/t in a comparison test. The G8 pulled off a 5.3 in the 0-60. Then I read more of the magazine and I saw that the challenger has a est 0-60 5.2 and I was shocked to see that and you mean to tell me when the stick edition comes out for the G8 a person could actually beat the challenger. Wow dodge looks like the MOPAR theme is going down the drain and Chevy is reclaiming their crown. O yeah here's the article

Yes the G8 can beat the Charger R/T....but what about the SRT-8 Charger? I would be even more impressed if they said the G8 beat the SRT-8 Charger. I did read that magazine the other day. The G8 can take the R/T Challenger I'm sure....but I'm not so sure about the SRT-8.

I just obtained that issue and it seems like the speculated high-power G8 will at least be competitive with the SRT8. With as cheap as a regular G8 is, that will be hard to pass up as a nice family four-door. That G8 is pretty friggin' sweet and makes me feel pretty good about the fifth gen. since they share chassis'.

Very promising indeed.

The charger srt-8 only pulls a 0-60 in 5.1 sec and 4.9 at best. this is only the mid grade G8. with the ls3 G8 (GXP) probably to arrive sooner or later with a stick shift it cant even be a comparison anymore. and the challenger has the exact same numbers as the charger so to have a affordable car take on these living legends that's crazy

Oh yeah? Then the Challenger is as good as dead then! lol I forgot about the G8 GXP w/LS3. I know the Camaro will beat the stangs, Chargers and Challengers....but I hope it can beat the Shelby GT500. Shelby GT500 is ALMOST equal to the LS2 Corvette. I'll drool all over the place if I come up to a light next to a GT500 and kick his ass off the line.

They tested an SRT8 Charger vs the G8 GT (edmunds, maybe?)...and I'll tell you - the G8 held its own, only behind by some tenths of a second. The Pontiac just spanks the R/T mercilessly. <And that's trim for trim!

I can't wait for Camaro vs Challenger

still if you can do that in a charger t/t just imagine what a person can do in a lighter and more stronger G8. not to knock your accomplishment i appluaed you but i still think this isnt gonna be much of a fight anymore with Dodge and chevy.

Can't wait can't wait! I don't think there's much doubt the V8 Camaro performance wise is going to spank the Challenger.

There are at least 3 guys on G8board.com who say they have taken possession.
