Track Mode

Do any of you use track mode on the highway when there’s not much traffic or should this be reserved for the track only?

I just got my 2SS a few days ago and I’m not even sure if I should try out track mode during the break in period....

It's completely fine to use on or off the track.

I use it every so often (Just to put those mustangs/challengers in place XD).

As far as break in goes, don’t go over 80MPH and exceed 4K RPMs for the first 500 miles. Once you pass it’s free rain from there. Enjoy the new camaro!

Sometimes I use Track mode when in traffic and city driving but spend most of the time in Sport mode. Nothing wrong though with using Track mode in city driving!

Track mode is my favorite! I probably drive in Track 50 percent of the time.

The car just hunkers down and feels more capable of pushing the limits.

It's not just for the track...go for it!

I think I read somewhere in the manual that if you use track mode when you're not on the track your car will implode. Although I might have misread that.

Setting the car to track mode only adjusts throttle pedal mapping (more linear compared to the other modes), steering feel (less assist torque from power steering), engine sound if you have NPP (exhaust valves are open a little more than sport but still closed when cruising on the highway), and dampers if you have mag ride (stiffer damping). This is different than competitive mode (turns traction control off but keeps stability control on) and PTM mode (varying levels of ESC/TC).

Using track mode won't do anything on it's own, but you will want to follow the break-in procedure in the manual. IIRC for the first 1500 miles it's don't accelerate hard, bog the engine, exceed 80 mph or 4k rpm, or hold a constant speed.

I seldom use Track Mode on the highway as there isn't a lot of fit for it (for me). I use it all the time on the secondary roads, though. The car just corners like it's on rails and allows me to stay off of the brakes more.

I tend to leave the car in Sport Mode most of the time since it will return to Sport Mode on startup as opposed to leaving it in Track Mode which causes the car to start up in Touring Mode.

That's about what the temps were here yesterday. Took a drive, visited my parents, and drove home just before sunset. By the time I got home (about two hours on the road), the temps were well down into the sixties and my ears were actually a little cold with the top down.

Overnight, the temps dropped into the 40's. It's August!!!
