convertible top alignment bushing pops out.

Anyone notice the bushing on the top of the windshield that the pin from the convertible top aligns to - popping out and retracting with the top? If un-noticed, when latching the top, the pin with the bushing does NOT seat back correctly, causing the top to not be latched on the passenger side. Noticed that bushing missing on another car in the showroom when I visited the dealer to get them to pre-order the assembly before I returned my 2011 car.

One of mine popped out on day 2. I will wait until I get the first service to get it replaced.

My dealer's Parts guy indicated they can't just order the bushing, the assembly it plugs into has to be replaced, in the top of the windshield. No dealer is going to have that assembly in stock - the convertibles are too new.

Have any of you actually gotten this issue resolved on your vehicles or are you waiting for parts or something else to take your vehicles in? Thank you all for your time.

Spend about $50,000 on the car and it seems to be getting annoyance after annoyance. I'll bet many of us have gotten to be on first name with the service departments!

Just try Mercedes. I did in 1995 and 2000, and have not desired to own a new one since. Notice I didn't say "drive" - I'd like to drive one, but don't want to own one! Case in point, I doubt there is a car made that doesn't have at least some issues.

Try the smaller Lexus convertible - when the top's down, reports say you can't put luggage in the trunk! Not to disparage others, just what I found when researching whether to choose that or the Camaro convertible. Wife and I want to be able to take at least some luggage on our weekend getaways, LoL!!

'some' luggage will fit in a Vert's trunk with the top down, but not very much unless it's very thin and can find under the window shade.

Part is still on order, have not heard back from the dealer on it's expected arrival date. I can say however, this is the only issue I've had so far, in 1020 miles....

After reading some posts on the problem i opened my top and removed the guides, then applied 3M panel bonding adhesive to the underside of guide . Put the top up,let set overnite should be good to go forever.

dont have pic already done ,but real simple just take a small blade screwdriver and pry the guide out, they will only go back in one way.Lay it upside down then just put a small amout of panel bonding all around the edge, snap it back in. Most all body shops have some panel bonding adhesive in there shop it takes a special gun to dispense it.

Went to dealer today for the A/C recall, and was advised that the whole assembly had arrived and was on the parts shelf. Dealer addressed the recall and replaced the assembly in less than 2 hours.

Mine Pops out every time I open the top. Passenger side only. Its a little black plastic piece that sits in the hole. Should be easy enough to make/order a replacement part. Will be addressing this when the car goes in for its first service. Only 600 miles and the A/C needs a recall, my Convertible tops has rub ,arks on it and I have a piece popping out every time I put the top down.

What should I expect at 6,000 miles??
