Long Island Chevy Dealers

I plan on dropping quite a bit of money in the not so distant future on a Camaro ZL1 most likely and would like to know from you Long Island guys, which Chevrolet dealership would be the best to buy this car from? I'm talking in terms of product knowledge, reasonable cost (little to no mark ups) and most importantly, SERVICE! I did a search on google trying to find dealership reviews for Long Island Chevy dealerships and can't find much. What would be the best dealer to buy this car from? I've been to Atlantic Chevrolet in Bay Shore which seems like a nice place, but have no experience with them.

I just bought a car from Atlantic chevy. They gave me all test drives on empty tanks(actually had to stop to get gas during one drive and they fill their cars with EMPIRE gas).
Bought my car, they gave me car with only 1/8-1/4 tank of gas.I bitched and they gave me a $30 voucher telling me the cars usually leave the lot with a half tank of gas. They also almost let me leave lot without front license plate on.
A week later ,I noticed all my sales paperwork were dated wrong, showing I bought the car 2 weeks earlier than I did.Because of that my extended warranty started on wrong date,my 1st payment was due 2 weeks after I bought car and the payoff on my trade- in is still showing $88 due. They fixed the warranty paperwork, told me they can't do anything on 1st payment date, and although said they would fix trade-in money owed ,it's been almost a week with no change.
Some service for a $40,000 purchase.

I tried purchasing my Camaro locally but none of the dealers would budge on price. One dealership had a pre-opening fair where you could test drive Camaro. Drove car, provided salesman with my name and number, but never called. Found Becky from Rodgers Chevrolet, Michigan, in this forum and purchased from her. Best experience ever.

I'm glad to hear you all say Paul Conte. I just bought a used 2007 Chevy Cobalt with a 5 speed for 8 grand as a daily driver/winter beater from them, and I told them I would be coming back for the ZL1 whenever it comes out. I never met Al Dobbs, my salesman was Mitch Gould, who was also a very friendly guy, but kept thinking I was talking about the SLP ZL1 whenever I mentioned the ZL1 lol.

It's interesting you say that cause before I went to Atlantic chevy,I had gone to two other dealers near me(one in smithtown near mall and one off of 112 in coram).Neither one gave me the impression they were really trying to sell me the car.One guy wouldn't give me a decent price on trade-in,started eating Ho-ho's in front of me and didn't even try to get the hook in by offering a test drive.Same with the other place - guy never left his seat.Keep in mind- I walked in these places with basically $20,000 in my pocket.I left both places bewildered thinking the camaro was selling itself.

I would say try Chevrolet of Smithtown. Ask for Peter K. you can also visit and check out their new service dept. The Long Island Camaro club has been dealing with them. I know a lot of the sevice guys are from the old Ramp dealership.

Call Becky

I went all over the Isalnd trying to get a fair price on a new 2SS/RS vert, Atlantic wanted 10k over MSRP,but were fantastic about letting me look at and drive test the car. Arnold Chevy told me they did not allow test drives and would not take credit cards for depoists? And Sun just sis not have any convertibles.
I sent Emails to a few more LI dealers and no-one was very good responding.

I finally contacted Becky from Rogers Cheverolet in MI, and ordered the car through her for a better price than I could get anywhere else, I have a build date of 4/18. You can find her posts all over, she is great to deal with and you will get the best price, plus she will honour all the discounts that apply.

Here is her info:
