How many have had to replace their battery?

How many fellow Camaro owners have had to replace their battery?
I just replaced my battery on a 2017 ZL1. I had it on a charger, but it died after 5 years. Purchased an AC Delco 48AGM battery at Chevrolet dealer. Most people say a car battery should last at least 5-7 years. Cost $284 with a discount. Used Chevy rewards points and walked out at 149$ after return of core. The new battery was manufactured November 2021. It's 7 months old, so not too terrible. Tested it and the SoH was 100%, charge was at 93%. I purchased a new CTEK MX5 charger with an AGM function for this battery and hope this helps.

In Florida due to regular heat and heat from Tracking, I replace every two years. All under warranty. Haven't paid for a battery yet.

Original battery in my 2018 that I bought new in 2018. Never been on a charger either. My car has 30.3k miles on it.

Car batteries do last about 5 to 7 years but..... people on the forum say the battery in the ZL1 doesn't last more than 3 years. They say it's a electrical power hungry car but I don't believe that.

Glad to see you got 5 years out of your OEM battery unlike others.

Original battery (2019) and it's fine. Keep Optimate6 in the trunk on it all week when I'm not driving it. Battery tenders are junk in comparison

Cranking this big motor over will eat a battery quick if you don't keep it charged

Can you explain why battery tenders are junk in comparison? I've used a battery tender plus for over 12 years, on my motorcycles and a number of cars, with no issues. Just curious as I'm looking to get another tender soon.

Mine lasted 4 years and 20,000 miles. Died in March this year. Nice weather driving in spring, fall and those brutal hot Georgia summer days. Stored in car during winters. No tender, just occasional start ups.

Mine hasn’t died yet and I assume that it’s the original battery(bought car used in 2019) so I figure it might go at anytime.

I still have the original battery in my 2017. I do keep it on a tender when I am not going to drive it for more than a week or so.

Original battery in a 2017 ZL1. My car is from the first 6th gen ZL1 production run in October of 2016.

During my yearly oil change in May I asked the service advisor to check the battery. It tested fine.

It's been my experience that GM OEM batteries typically die between year four and five. The one in my ZL1 seems to be an exception as it will be six years old in October.

Original battery in my 19 is on its way out. Cranks very slow when engine is warmed up and heat soaking. I’ve been looking at the Optimas, but will pry go with a Everstart because of the warranty.

My powertrain warranty expires on the 20th so I fully expect the battery to die and once replaced the next day, for the oil pump to fail.

Optimate has far more sophisticated programming and can restore abused batteries more effectively in my experience, plus that I've had so many battery tenders fail after several years. Optimate isn't well known in US but it's a much higher quality product
