Can you paint a car in a hot 100*F Garage?
I have a body repair guy who is repainting one of my cars. He works out of his personal garage and I typically use him because he’s cheaper than most body shops plus he does pretty decent work, but he is pretty slow. Here in Austin TX we’ve had some days into the triple digit temps and he advises me he can’t spray when it’s that hot or it will affect the cure. Is this true? I just want to make sure he’s being legitimate with me.

I'd say he is being legit - in addition to concerns about the paint curing properly, that kind of heat could threaten his health, considering he's going to be wearing protective gear that will make him even hotter. And that's just temperature - since it's likely not fully air conditioned either, there is probably high humidity as well, which can also cause curing issues.
https://www.learnautobodyandpaint.co...-auto-body-qa/ "The maximum heat is 100-105 degrees, but you will be sweating like crazy. 100 degrees is borderline and 105 degrees is pushing it but it can be done. However, you need to have good ventilation with slow reducer and slow hardener because that stuff will set up quick."

yeah hot weather is not good for painting the same as really cold. ideally you want to do it in spring or fall.

I have worked as a temp at the Toyota factory years ago. The painting area was always about 100 degrees.
