I'm interested in this as I have some rough shifts between 3-4 and sometimes 4-5 . I have the JRE 125 package from Jannetty.

I spoke with two highly regarded shops and both said the TCM doesn't need to be tuned until a cam is installed to adjust the shift points. Both shops said the stock TCM tuning is fine until then.

I'm looking into it for that reason, but there's also so much more that pre-2020 TCM guys are doing with their TCM edits. KingLT1 has some nice posts on these issues.

So is anyone having hard shift issues with just some bolt on and tune? My shifts are pretty rough

Call Jannetty and ask them is my vote. They tuned the car, they should be able to tell you whats up. Is it slipping at all in gear?

I've read what King's thoughts are on this but I'm telling you that two highly regarded shops are saying not to mess with the TCM until a cam is installed. Not my words, its theirs. That being said, it doesn't matter if I disagree with them if they won't tune it because they don't feel like its needed or beneficial.

Well I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on this very expensive mod if the results are negligible.....

Hard shifts are part throttle or full throttle? I suppose either way, it depends on your definition of hard shifts. These cars shift amazingly quick but it never feels harsh which is a weird thing. I came from the Hellcat world before my ZL1 and that transmission can break your neck shifting when its tuned.

KingLT1 says otherwise and he does some of his own tuning, but the two highly regarded shops I contacted says I'm wasting my money without a cam.

If you have a cam, it will pay off to have the TCM tuned.

Hard shifts are mostly part throttle, if I'm at full throttle it shifts perfectly.

Yeah that doesn't sound right at all. My A10 shifts really soft under part throttle. It shifts quick but soft.
