Watching the app, they moved the car to the service bay, a few hours later it was moved back to the lot. Called my to ask if I can pick up and haven't had a reply(got the advisors voicemail) Hope that means they actually can fix it in one visit.

Ha. I did the same, picked a day with a break in the weather. No way i wanted to get stuck in the snow with the Goodyear SC3s.

They confirmed the problem, and no one in the region has the part but they said it is not on back order and is shipping direct from the factory, So 3 to 4 days. I'm going to get the car and drop it back off on Thursday or Friday when it comes in.


On second thought, I maybe I should leave it there so they can get on it as soon as the part arrives

Dang that sucks. GM dealers can't schedule worth a darn.
I wouldn't leave it at the dealer unless it is a long drive to get there.

If it arrives on Friday I won't be able to drop the car off until the evening so it would sit there over the weekend. And they saying it could take more than a day to do it. No real good choice

GM parts distribution strikes again!

Friday I left a voice mail because I hadn't heard anything, and have called many times with no answer so I asked the service receptionist to look into it and luckily she did, turns out he is at work and the part hasn't shown up( geez, thanks for responding to my VM asking to be notified if the parts didn't arrive!).

Ugh dealers and GM sucks.

Oh and it turns out the car was actually done the day I dropped it off. Advisor never called until 24 hours later to tell me they had ordered the part. (Which today they told me was the day I dropped it off)


Another update:
Got the car back, They were kind of surprised to see me there in person but I just wanted to make sure it didn't get washed and anticipation of my arrival

He wanted check the tracking again and it shows it did ship* from Michigan but it hasn't arrived in its hub where it gets routed to the dealer. So the part might not be on back order but it sure seems like the distribution and shipping is backlogged.

He just called me to tell me it came in today.

Supposed to storm Thursday and Friday, So I'm not taking the car in until next week because they said it'll take a day or two to do it

I took the car in as soon as they opened this morning. They said this is the first one they've actually had to do. They hadn't seen any ZL1s with this issue before so they were planning on a day or more. Ended up taking about 3 hours if the my Chevrolet app is correct with the location and movement. The tech said it was very straightforward and told the advisor that that noise would have really annoyed him too.

In a little bit of irony, as the shuttle pulled into the dealership to drop me off, GMC rear-ended a. Cadillac right in front of the Chevy dealership.

The egg timer is gone! Woohoo!
