2015 1LE all season tires on 2017 ZL1

Not sure if this has already been addressed I did some searching and couldn't find anything. I have a set of Michelin sport all season tires 285 35 20 from my 2015 ss 1le and would like to put them on a set of MRR MO17 rims to use in the cold weather on my 2017 ZL1. I know the tires on the 2017 zl1 have a 30 aspect ratio not 35. I also know it will affect the speedo a bit. My question is will I have any fitment issues going from a 30 to 35 aspect ratio? Has anyone done this? Pics?

Cool but I was playing around with this and noticed that changing the width of the tire also affects the speedometer. How does that work?

Width won't affect speedo. Aspect ratio can depending on the difference.

Thanks for the reply I actually have been on that site and I knew the diameter was a little more than an inch bigger. I guess it's just a matter of measuring and see if I have the clearance. The other concern is the offset is a little different on the front MRR rims I believe it's +23 instead of +20. I was just hoping someone might have already done it so I could know indefinitley. Thanks for your help!

Width will affect it because of the aspect ratio. 275mm wide x 35% will be shorter than 305mm wide x 35%. The 35 is the percent of the width of the tire that equals the height of the sidewall.

Great! We know that. Thank you.

We are talking 30 vs 35 on same width. <------

It will be a roll of the dice. The ZL1 is not on a square set up of 285 at all.four corners.

The stock tire size diameter is 26.7 front/27.2 rear. The car is calibrated to this data.
The size, if I am reading that you will go square at 285 35 20 at each wheel this data comes out at 28.4 at each corner.. The car computer is expecting the diameter difference to be 1.5 inches and may throw abs and stabilitrack codes and problems.

Peole who have run a square set up front and back on these newer cars have found they must adjust the aspect ratio to keep the original difference in diameters the same.

Did you mean .5 difference? Just making sure I'm understanding what your saying. Do you think I could just purchase a set of 305 35 20s for the rear and run the 285 35s on the front? I'm just trying to use what I already have cause they're like brand new. I guess it's more of a question if 35s will work. Thanks again for the replies!

Yeah LOL I have the math backwards, but yes .5 the car can see the wheel spinning at different speeds than expected front to rear and it is possible to cause the systems to act up. It may or may not happen depending. A sure fire way is to mount them and see what happens, as Im not sure at what point the car picks up the discrepancy. Or you could just pick up the rears in the correct size. Just pointing out that the difference, or in this case a lack of, could possibly create an issue.

I do know that too big of a difference greater than a half inch will cause issues, so if the car is expecting a half inch difference and does not see it at the wheel sensors, that could possibly do so as well.

Sorry, I completed misunderstood when the guy above asked why changing the width would effect the speedometer and you said width doesn't effect that, my mistake. I'll go back to trolling and let the adults handle this.

If the Camaro is anything like the C6 and newer Vettes (which have always ran factory staggered tires) then as long as you don't go over 1" in tire height differences you will be fine. There is some tolerance built into the system due to tire manufactures having varying tire heights.
