What would you choose? Scat pack or SS?!
Hello All, I’m looking to get into a v8.
Has anyone driven both the scat pack challenger/charger? What would you choose between those and the 2019 SS A10. Pros and Cons you have about them |

Drove the Scat Pack Challenger and Charger each a couple times before I got the A10 SS.
SP Challenger/Charger Pros: Great engine great sound stock 8spd ZF auto is fantastic. Throttle response excellent Very quick. comfortable Cons: They both feel huge, especially the Charger. When time to hustle them around turns, they feel out of their element. Athletic for their size but that is a far cry from feeling nimble. They get the worst gas mpg out of the 3 muscle/pony cars. Camaro SS Pros: Great engine. A10 is fanatastic Feels WAY more tossable, athletic, sporty than the Dodge duo. The SS WANTS to be hustled. Very quick. Comfortable and also a great cruiser. Flat bottom steering wheel. Good ride quality in base form. Cons: Worse visibility(than the Charger). Slightly worse than the Challenger. Less space. If you want big, burly, fast and comfy, and need additional space the Dodge will fit the bill. But I found them too overweight and didn't need the extra space so the SS was the easy choice for me as it's way more fun to drive yet still plenty comfortable. PS-"Scat" is slang for poop in p0rn. |

Yes you need to test drive both and see which one you like and makes you happy!

As for a driving comparison, I drove the dodge for 3 days with chunks of mileage on mountain roads made for sports cars. The Challenger is like driving your grandfathers Chrysler Cordoba but with a better engine that can lay a patch. Spirited cornering in the dodge scared the hell out me and made me want to pull back. You simply cannot push the car unless you’re driving in a straight line (although that was fun). In my ZL1 and my old SS those same corners would have made me smile and push the pedal down further. I was let down 10 minutes into the three day rental. |

I rented a challenger last year and had nearly the exact same experience though I was just driving around Baltimore and DC. After daily driving a 5th gen 6 cyl Camaro, I found the Challenger lumbering and heavy but it definitely put A LOT OF POWER down when I goosed the throttle. I also had the misfortune of driving it in 4" on snow one day. I lost control several times going 5mph but thankfully didn't put it in the ditch (or another car). Camaro hands down for me. Opinions are cheap, though. You really need to drive them yourself before you make a decision.

I test drove both and the camaro edges it out by being more in control.
It’s a 1ss 2019. If I can get it for &35k OTD is that a fair deal? I’m in Southern California . It’s an A10 with black wheels , NPP, and sunroof |

I rented one before I got my Camaro and drove the canyons around San Diego. Incredibly disappointing! If you need a comfy sedan the charger is hard to beat. But the challenger is not a comparison to the Camaro at all. It’s a sports car vs a grand touring muscle car. Two entirely different cars. Some people love them. Not the car for me. Great motor.

OTD as in tax and tags included? If so, yes that's an awesome deal.

I'm a senior designer at FCA, I have driven every SRT vehicle on a track, that includes road course, auto cross and drag racing. They are great cars, I prefer the charger over Challenger but that's just preference. Yes, they aren't as nimble but are just as fun. If you are going to track it, the Camaro is the better car, but I recommend like others have said to test drive all of them.
