I had a cover made of this material for my C6. After 7 years (and an annual trip through the washing machine), the cover still looked like new. You can’t beat the convenience of a cover that stretch-fits into place and doesn’t blow around when you open the garage door; besides keeping the dust and dirt off the car, it keeps the bugs and other critters (and their poop, which can eat paint) off the car. Best of all, after almost 5 months of winter storage, the car only needed a quick wipe-down with detailing spray; it didn’t even need to be washed. BTW, the price here is exceptionally reasonable.

Believe it or not there is a great demand for them. Let me give you a common example of why.

You have a two car garage. One side has your "weekend" car the other side has your "daily driver". During the course of the week you may open your garage door 30 times and maybe even leave it open for a short while. You will start your daily driver several times and exit and enter the garage with cooling fans blowing. Dirt and dust from the garage door falls down every time you open and close it. Wind is blowing dirt and dust into the garage when it is open. Yard crew is mowing and blowing leaves and even the tightest of garage doors will allow dust to enter when this is happening. In a week without a cover your "weekend" driver will be covered with dirt.

I live in a high-rise that has open garage parking on the bottom level with assigned spots. The amount of cars driving by and stirring up dust will cover an car in a few days. Indoor covers really help in my situation.

I hope you can understand why to many of us an indoor car cover is important. Not to mention the fact that indoor car covers are much softer and kinder to the painted surfaces than outdoor covers.

Does this car cover have a sort of silky feel to it? I have a friend that got a Camaro car cover directly from GM and I think it is made by Cover King also. GM part number 23457480. Would this be the same type and material?

Bill

I would say probably yes, if it’s an indoor-only cover - sort of like your favorite ladies’ underwear, but stretchier.
