v6 2011 vs v6 2010
hey guys im new to the forum and I'm also about to buy a camaro in a month or two. So I saw the 2010 about 2-3K more cheaper than the 2011. I heard that the only difference is that the Hp rating the 2010 produced was less than the 2011 rating. So my question is, does the 2010 camaro really have less hp than the 2011. Or did GM just get a better rating in the 2011. I also heard that there really isn't a change in Hp it's just the rating. I just want to know if this is true or not. Anyone know?

So is there any improvement at all with the 2011 from the 2010? Also which would you recommend?

2010. I'm pretty sure their identical just like in the SS's. Excluding HUD in the '11 SS but I don't think you can get that in the V6.

the hud will be in the 2lt and 2ss only
and the hp rating was certified for both the 2010 and 2011 at 312 hp's.

If you are getting a 2LT I say go with the 2011 so you get the HUD. That's what I did. If you are getting an LS or a 1LT just save your money and get a 2010 because I don't think there are any differences.

HUD was a 350 $ add to sticker. On the 2lt.
Maybe dist. went up 50 bucks?

Well I'm getting the 1lt so it's all good? So nothing improved from the 2010, they're both exactly the same?
Yeah the HUD only goes with the lt2 and ss2 and I don't think their very useful since you get an digital speedometer in the display between the rpm and mph gauges anyways. I actually think it'd get kinda annoying when driving since it's like right in your face. Plus the camaro has limited enough visual so yeah. Thanks dudes

was initially "umbrella" rated at 304 because the engine was introduced, and is used in the cadillac "c.t.s." model...both model years of the v-6 camaro are officially rated now at 312 h.p...this is,of course h.p measured at the "flywheel" and not at the rear wheels.h.p. measured at the rear wheels is "brake horsepower",and will be less due to "slippage" in the drive train...i have not seen a (b.h.p.) rating given by the "general" in any "printed" media. |
