My 1998 GMC Sonoma does they slow fan scatch and so does my 2010 Camaro RS.
I just thought that was a GM trademark

Alot of times it is no more han some casting flash or the insulation touching the squirrel cage and may get better with time.

I had this issue and after a while it started to sound like a belt squeal becoming louder and happening all the time. It turned out to be a bearing in my blower motor. After I had it replaced my interior is nice and quiet again.
