given that its "rated" for 1500 degrees F, the intial bite might be a bit less if not the same as the stock stuff. been looking for an mu chart to see where it kicks in and starts to fade and how high the mu gets...haven't found anything like hawk and ferodo has for their pads...

I had em on mine for about 5k miles, and with satin black wheels, I didn't have a brake dust issue either way. I clean wheels maybe once a month if that. I did one autoX with em and A LOT of DD. In the end, I went back to the stock stuff. brake dust doesn't bother me.

currently looking into the AX6 or XP8 from carbotech. or the hawk hp+. don't mind dust or some noise, stopping is most important for myself.

What's your application? And which brake setup do you have?

I just installed the same pads last week. Right out the gate I was not happy at all with them by comparison to the OEM Brembo pads. However, after bedding them in and a few more miles on them, I absolutely love the way they perform. The OEM Brembos were just so freakin grabby just prior to stopping. The Powerstops perform more to my liking for daily driving. And so so much less dust. Love em!

And someone asked about the numbers for the pads...here ya go. 2017 Camaro SS v8 OEM Brembo 4-piston calipers.

What is the torque value on the caliper mounting bolts, I plan on ordering the pads for all four corners, I am tire of having "Brownish" wheels and tires, I washed the wheels Monday afternoon and in 2 days they are nasty.

You don't unbolt the caliper to change the pads. You only need to pull the retaining pins.

Yes regular brembos don't have any bolts just pins, if you have six piston upgraded brembos then there is a bolt across in the middle that needs to come off.

I thought the BITE was so bad on my 13 ZL1 I took them off after 7 days.

People said I didn't give them enough time...........

I called powerstop because I wanted to try them again on my 17 ZL1.
They told me to bed them as per instructions 40mph, then bed them again a week later at a higher speed, 80mph instead.

I must say, after 3 weeks they stop pretty good..

Bite as good as the Brembo pads? NO WAY, but it's not so bad, I can live with it for the dust benefit.

I know this is an old thread. Just commenting.

1. Totally agree..the initial bite is no where near the brembos. Semi- metallic in my experience always bite better.

2. The Z26 squeal after some hard stops. Other have experienced this too.

3. switching to Z23 hopefully that'll help the squeal.

Came down a steep hill then right into a stop n go line to get into the beach. Pretty embarrassing squeal with every stop every 5 feet for 1/4 mile.

ordered Z23 as soon as I got home. Stocks NEVER squealed.

I never experienced any squealing so I'm curious. You're saying after you do the bedding procedure, if you do some emergency/panic stops they'll start squealing? As in they'll squeal on application of the brakes or just when the car goes below a certain speed?

The Z23's are the same exact material except with a rubber backing plate instead of metal, so why would they squeal less? If the metal plate is squealing that probably is due to there not being any brake lube in between the piston and the backing plate, so why not just reapply some lube and see if that fixes it?

Also, in regards to the pedal feel, I agree that it is absolutely less, but does anyone know if some stainless steel lines assist in getting that pedal feel back? The brakes seem to perform fine once you're on them, but the initial bite is mushy so I was hoping stainless lines would stiffen that up

yes..after bedding. They only squeal when..

1. after a car wash
2. after some hard braking, they'll squeal when slowing down at like 3 mph down to 0.

on a normal day to day with typical braking, no problems.

but at the track, after 1/4 mile run and braking hard...they'll squeal when stopping from 3 mph to 0.

in other words...after they get hot (from some hard braking), mine squeal when coming to a stop. from 3 mph-0

Huh, hope that doesn't end up happening to mine. I'll have to be careful of hard braking on them.
