That means at some point you will probably never be able to register a petrol vehicle from another state in the state of California? Does that mean any vehicle currently with California plates just became legacy cars?

Exactly, if no one has a gas powered car who's going to buy the gasoline? So why have a gas station? They will begin to disappear. Then how are trucks going to refuel when they bring food and products into the state?

To me, the biggest issue is that California is rather prone to natural disasters. The greater flexibility of ICE and hybrid vehicles will be pretty important when you have to leave due to wildfires and such.

It's "out of sight, out of mind" for a lot of people.

So 2 stations instead of the 8 at every exit? Or of course...the electric trucks that change out batteries...

Let’s not forget the big push for self driving cars to go along with these EV’s. So basically, no more new internal combustion engines, and no more ability to drive your car as you wish. The government will control how fast you drive too. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, but if it does, I really don’t want to be around for it.

So just to be clear here, you are saying you don't believe that the temperature has risen in conjunction with the industrial revolution and increase in CO2 levels, not cyclical changes, and those data have been checked in models to move past correlation?

Because that's just what has happened. People who have no idea what it's about always bring up the "well the earth has always changed, gotten hotter and cooler". Well, yes, and that is not what this is about. If you bring that up, you are basically saying you have no understanding or idea what you are talking about and you should just be quite about the subject and let the scientists do their thing. Settlements ARE in the ocean in my state, over the last 20 years, because the permafrost no longer stays frozen.

The issue is that the transportation for the fuel will now cost a lot more because only a few trucks use the fuel rather than a lot of cars(economies of scale). Harder to recover that cost, so you will end up paying more for whatever that needs to be transported to Cali.

As for the latter, unless there is a huge break-through in battery technology, good luck with the battery weight(which reduces range, and then you need more batteries, and then you need even more batteries for that range lost to the extra weight...) and cost.

And just in case anyone says fuel cells, hydrogen mainly comes from steam reformation of natural gas, a fossil fuel. Oops.

I don't hate EVs, they work great for certain applications, but unfortunately certain people need to pick up a physics textbook and learn.

It's the typical "your side, my side and truth" thing. As an Average Joe, expect never finding out what the truth is, and there are people who make money off of this kind of stuff.

So... you gonna sell your Camaro SS to help prevent the climate change/global warming/whatever people call it nowadays? I always find it entertaining when people on a sports car forum try to bring up environmentalism. Pot calling the kettle black at its finest.

And to be serious for a sec, I think our approach for this issue is wrong(assuming climate change and such are mainly caused by human activities). Rather than reducing our consumption(yeah good luck with that one), the focus IMO should be on how to process the waste(carbon dioxide, etc.). IMO that will work out a lot better than trying to tell people how to live their lives.
