Like Mike mentioned, there is a proposal to move the AWD cars currently classed in BS to DS...16-17 Focus RS, all Evos and STI's, Audi TTs, etc. The Mazda RX8 and Nissan 350Z are also proposed to move from CS>DS, although the RX8 is unlikely to happen.

I believe the SAC has decided on the proposal, but it won't be published until the Nov Fastrack which will come out in Oct.

The 1LE 2.0T should also be classed at the same time, when SAC members asked me I suggested DS because I don't really think it will be significantly better than the base car. It will likely be ~75-100 lbs heavier, and the staggered wheel sizes do more to hurt balance than help IMO.

To the OP, while the saying "there's no substitute for cubic inches" is certainly true, I have truly enjoyed owning my 2.0T. I don't daily drive it, but easily could as it's super livable, gets good MPG, and is quicker than almost every Camaro built before 2002 The best part is how it handles though, it truly is better than the sum of it's parts!

I will update the DS thread soon, plans are to test shocks and a front bar this winter
I think the best thing about the turbo 1LE is you can have a turbo, but not have it be a base model, its a little more "special". Kinda how with car ADD i also want a type R(and fiat 124 for stu, and a colorado ZR2, and a alfa stelvio, and gulia... the list goes on) but i dont want front wheel drive. For someone like me who drives his car every day year round Id want things that the 1LT comes with vs the 1LS. (1LE turbo package only starts being available on 1LT right now according to the chevy site) I do hope it goes to DS but i have no plans right now to do so. Unfinished business in FS lol

Just purchased a 2019 Camaro LS Riverside Blue

Just purchased a 2019 Camaro LS Riverside Blue, dealer finally meet my price otd. Looking forward to the season starting back up in March. Time to order some Forgestar rims on sale at Strano Performance Parts.

Doesn't look like there is to much else to do to the car other than lighten the exhaust with a nice muffler into a single tip exit and wait on the outcome of the shock development.

Have alot to learn, going to be a fun year in autocross!! Been driving a vw cc for the past 7 years. Before that drove a 93 e36 w/lsd for 13yrs, the Camaro 4T is bring back alot of memories when the traction control is turned off lol.

Thanks for all of the support guys!!

Congratulations !
…..and yes, at the moment the only real upgrade/changes are :
tires/rims
axle back
front swaybar
alignment
…….and as you said, a good OTS shock - should be available sometime in 2019
(hopefully)

Good luck, have fun and welcome aboard ! !

1le 4t is definitely a looker and unique, hopefully Chevy will give there standard discounts on new model.

Should be a fun class with the new classifications. The focus RS and STI guys should be happy and the twins are like what the hell

There's a move afoot from the twins camp to move out. I have one (SSC) but after this would either go STX or get a new car (if you didn't want to go into SSC).

I'm consolidating two cars into one by looking at the Camaro. Don't mind paying a little more for one.

shocks for the entire 6th gen are almost non existent. Dispite what tire rack shows the 5th gen koni shocks do not fit a our cars. That said you could check with Jeff Wong from proparts usa to see if he can build some.

Or you could just buy the turbo 1LE shocks.

Since the turbo 1le is in D Street would adding shocks, brakes, aero or anything else from the 1le be legal on a 1LS in D Street if I run 19" wheels?

You can run the shocks because shocks are legal.

no if you dont have a 1LE you can not run anything from a 1LE like brakes, or aero

While one may be able to run the shocks from a 1LE on the non-1LE, you have to run the non-turbo springs *if* there's any difference (right height, spring rate, etc...) than the 1LE (SS) springs.

It's not as simple as saying "just run the shocks", especially if the resulting ride height is different between the two where the collar may be at different heights to compensate for spring rate. (Which would need some testing to figure out)
