1LT brake upgrade
Trying to wade through all the posts in here. Is there a simple answer to this? I want to swap out the front brake rotors, pads and calipers on my 2017 RS with drilled/slotted rotors and 4 piston Brembo calipers. Short and sweet, what do I need? Part numbers and where to get them?

Depends on if you get your hands on a set of LT calipers or SS calipers.
If you get some LT then all you need to change it is the caliper, pads, and caliper bolts I believe as everything else is the same. If you get the SS caliper then you’re looking at the same plus 13.6” rotors. I recently got a set of LT calipers, I went ahead and got some front SS lines since I’d be unplugging it anyways. The caliper bolts I had to order from dealership but wasn’t much

Do you want Cadillac ATS or Camaro SS brembos? I did the ATS brembos and just needed the calipers, longer bolts, and the ss brake lines with the stock Lt rotors. If you do the ss brembo's you'll need the same stuff plus the ss bigger rotors. If you want I made a little video on how to do the ATS setup. SS brakes should be about the same.

They used to offer a Chevrolet Performance front brake upgrade for the LS/LT models for a really good price (I got mine on sale for $480). It's since been discontinued. However, you can still buy the slotted 13.6" rotors from the kit:
Left - https://wildhammermotorsports.com/16...t-performance/ Right - https://wildhammermotorsports.com/16...t-performance/ Pair those with stock SS front calipers, pads, and brake lines and you're good to go. Wildhammer Motorsports (linked above) offers everything you're looking for in a complete kit with all new Chevrolet parts for around $1,100, but you can piece it together separately for a lot less. Lightly used SS brakes pop up regularly in the member classifieds. Remember to flush your brake fluid out for something like Castrol RBF or Motul 600/660.

Id like to get a good look at your FE3 drop. How did you put that together/order and any other mods with the springs, considering the lighter front end?

From my research the FE3 struts/shocks fit fine but if you use the SS springs then the front is raised on v6 so probably more so on I4. Other options are lowering springs, your original FE2 springs or LT 1LE springs. Only other piece I believe from to complete the LT 1LE suspension is the FE3 sway bars and end-links. I don’t know if the v6 1LE and I4 1LE use the same springs though.

ah - thanks! Also what I was suspecting. Yeah. I had a set of Koni yellows on my bimmer and it went from hard to harsh, so I'm suspect of coil overs on a light car. I'm looking at Bilstein finally has a b12 kit too. I would like to hear of your results. I have a wider stance with the Apex Arc 8s, I may be nit picking where its going to be a particular fit and ride.

Here's my car after my first track session on the FE3 and Chevy Performance brake setup. It sits the same as far as I can tell. I didn't bother to measure ride height before or after.
I pieced together the FE3 1LE pieces from theSuspension Megathread. Buried in there it was confirmed that the V6 1LE used the same front springs on both the FE2 and FE3 suspensions, so I did the same with my 2.0T. The FE3 front springs will raise the 2.0T/V6 front by around an inch. I also have the FE3 front sway bar paired with the FEA (ZL1 1LE) rear sway bar. It's the same stiffness as the FE3 rear bar in its neutral setting, but can be adjusted one step firmer or softer. I went a step firmer to dial out some of the understeer after I upgraded to the new 18x8.5 265/45 squared wheel setup. At the time I installed mine it was OEM Chevy parts, or coilovers. Now you have Bilstein as an option. If I were doing it now I'd go with the B12 kit Wook mentioned.

Here's a dumb question, would those rotors and calipers fit with the stock wheels on?

He’s got 4 piston brembos on 18” wheels so they’ll fit any OEM wheel. Don’t know about 6 Piston though

Luckily mine came with the fe3 setup. It's nice but bouncy imo.
