My 15 wrx had the coolest attachment method for the front splitter, they use these flanged rubber barrel nuts. You drilled the hole, pushed the nut in up to the flange, put the spoiler in place and bolt it up. As you tighten the screw it balloons out the sides of the rubber barrel, creating a almost rivet like effect but it was reusable.

Do you mean expansion nuts (below)? If so, that would also work, but the holes might need to be drilled larger. Good option though

does a clearbra proteaction on the splitter offer any added protection?

For track use, run a strip of Gorilla tape across the leading edge.

Yes i have had the same exact problem i would assume that came from a rock , most likely had my music blasting and did not hear the impact.

That’s crazy. My 2014 has taken lots of abuse and has few dents but no cracks.
