I want to remain CARB compliant so headers aren't a viable option...

Glad I found this thread, as I am also debating between the AWE Touring and Corsa Extreme (both axlebacks). They both sound great, I just prefer the looks of the AWE Touring (the tips and the mufflers) and at least to my ears it also sounds marginally better.

I wish they both offered an NPP version though.

Or maybe we're all kind of aware that it doesn't make more power so we just buy what we want.

Yes, that's exactly it. Any contributions to the actual subject?

My only concern is the loss of the NPP function.

If your looking to remain quiet for the neighbors I'd look for an npp option exhaust. Both the Corsa Extreme and the AWE Touring are pretty rowdy and if you decide to do more of the exhaust later on they are only going to get worse to the point that you'll probably have the neighbors at your door complaining every day.

Thanks. I like it loud, I always had loud exhausts. I just need to be able to switch to a more quiet mode. It seems that the only alternative is the Borla exhausts (S-type or ATAK) and the new Corsa Variable Sound, but the latest is crazy expensive:

LOL... that's just playing games. They are both bound by MAP and the price will ultimately be the same.

I can't speak for other exhaust systems, but I have the AWE Touring Non-Resonated cat back, with Kooks Headers.
Sucker is loud!
No drone, and the loud is a nice loud. I talked with my neighbors and they all said it sounds good, not bothered by it.
One neighbor was able to tell me what time I leave every morning for work!
He also said when I get on it, he can hear me on the hwy about a mile away.
Others have asked if my car has a cam because of the sound...no cam.
One person who only heard it, but didn't see it at first, thought it was a Z06!
I can only imagine what it will be like with a SC and a cam...some day I may find out!

well in the senior community, I get dirty looks and I'm on 4 cats, two resonators, 2 crush pipes and factory suite case / single tips... don't know what to do now.
