I've had a V1 for the last 3 years. It's saved me a bunch of times, even with WAZE running. The only bad this is I had to turn X and K off because of all the false alarms. Cops around me don't use them anyway. I get alot of false alarms with laser also. Usually from Mazdas and Volvos. I can upgrade to the G2 for like $350, but not sure it's worth it.

Waze alone won't help you with radar notifications if you're the first to encounter the trap or if others don't bother to mark it. It also won't be helpful in the dark. Definitely need to have both a radar detector and Waze.

I put an Escort Max 360 in my Camaro right after my first ticket and never looked back. I even got a second one for our Challenger. Ever since the Max 360c came out the regular Max 360 models have dropped in price making them very affordable. The difference between the C and the regular Max 360 is the C is web enabled so it can join the hotspot in your car.
Did some research online and found on the radar forums some typical setup configurations that really made sense. I live in California so they don't use k band here even though they say some states maybe bringing it back we aren't. So turned that off, bingo no false alarms. It also teaches you how to set up different settings for maximum range and efficiency. I kid you not I can pick up a radar signal from a mile to a mile and a half away with deadly accuracy and a very seldom get a false alert if at all anymore. Valentine had the patent on the arrow system for which direction the alert was coming from. The Patton recently expired and is why other companies are now able to start offering this feature with the Max 360 being one of the first. I really like it and helps you determine what's going on. With escort there is a downside in having to pay for the subscription service which allows you to download their database of red light cameras and other known areas. I used to keep this up to date but honestly don't do it much anymore. They also have an app that links to the detector through Bluetooth and is updated with alerts given off by other units in the area of your travel. I find this very handy on long trips but once again isn't something I have up all the time because they can stay on there for a while or somebody hits the wrong button and tags a spot that wasn't really an issue. I can tell you that since I bought this radar detector and the second one for the other car I haven't gotten a ticket in over three years, a very fast, lane changing, freeway racing, California lead foot driving 3 years. My vote is Escort Max 360 for the win.
