Just curious?

I put my car in track camber with the plate adjustment and had a track alignment at the 1500 mile service. I go usually once every 6 weeks to a track about 60 miles away and occasionally to Daytona which is about a 2 hr drive.

I was considering driving up to Road Atlanta and also to Sebring.

Im pretty sure adjusting the plates from track camber back to street is what GM had in mind for a guy like myself who doesn't tow his car to events.

Just curious? Anyone like myself that does this? If so how is tire life?

Honestly with the track camber and alignment my wear to and from the track, (14 sessions so far) and a weekend trip now and then isn't really too bad.

Keep in mind I don't go all out on track days and just enjoy driving faster then I could ever do so on the street.

Leave mine in track. I go through tires so fast from tracking, I figure it's not worth switching back.

I leave it in track with -3.0. Car handles so much better like that and I have a lot of canyons near my house which is where I drive the car other than 4-5 track weekends per year (always do 2 days), not a daily.

Shops charge a lot to rotate and I don't want to try that myself.

I've had mine in track alignment for a little over a month and a thousand or so miles. If I get time this weekend, I'll take a good look at my PS4S and see how they are doing. Just a cursory look they don't look bad.

From day 1, I have had my car in the factory track alignment specs. I use the OE Goodyear 3R's on the track and then switch to another set of OE wheels with the PS4's. I have not had any issues with premature wear on the PS4's in the track setting and I have more than 10,000 street miles on them. I have heard that switching the camber plate back to the street setting can cause issues with the toe setting which can wear out tires faster than a track camber setting.

This, I think that we were misled about being able to "toggle" back and
forth without having to get it realigned each time because of the toe.

Thanks for the feed back and I think another set of wheels and tires is the way to go between track days instead of making the adjustment each time.

As others mentioned, the toe change is the biggest hurdle between easily adjusting between street and track camber.

I recently dialed in -3.0 with plates to get more strut clearance for 19in wheels along with ~0.02 toe in per side and it's fantastic for street driving and autox. I'll be getting it out on the track this weekend and looking forward to seeing how it works there.

Just put mine into track specs along with some new fronts. Only ran about 100 miles on it so far but seems to have made a big difference. And yes, once they checked the alignment after I rotated the camber plates, the toe was quite a bit out of wack
