I would try dropping the negative cable from the battery for a few minutes for a good reset. Before taking a bunch of panels out.

However, once that panel is down, you can remove the glove box and the lighting module will be easy to pry out. Hope this helps.

(The reason I know all this is that I added the GM footwell lighting accessory package.)
I have no issue dropping the lower panel....took out many times getting nav most50 unit set..I'm actually have never put the 2 rear screws back in..once I drop that...any tricks to get glove box out? Once glove box is out where is the module actually located? Does the glove box actauly need to be dropped to access the module?,

I've removed mine a bunch of times as I'm making a replacement so I can have more control of the lighting.
How does fhe glove box come out? Doesnt look obvious

Here’s a video that covers the glove box removal in order to replace the cabin filter.

I see 2 modules with white labels on the right side in the video...Is the light module one of those?

It's been a while since I installed the footwell kit, but yeah, it looks like the one.

welp...found the issue...apparently the plug for the spectrum lighting module wasnt plugged in. Dont know how or when but if i recall i noticed a loose plug when i dropped the tuner module back in May. Either it just worked itself out or the led lights have been out for 3 months and i just noticed...dropped glove box, plugged in module and they immediately came on. Decided to change the cabin air filter while i was there...what genius gm engineer designed the glove box to be a pita to drop down...
