Door sill plates, UPDATED

Hey guys,

I've ordered the factory door sill plates for Ewa, they should arrive tomorrow. Does anyone have any intructions of how to install. My sister owned a detailing shop for years, was a God at this type of stuff, and said she'd help, but I kind of want to show her that I can do it. Any help?

Thanks!

Even if you didn't order them directly from GM?

Well if they are OEM and are still in the OEM package there should be instuctions and a templet in the box. Now depending on when they were packaged I know the very early ones didn't have the templet but did have instructions. I have the measurements at work but I'm away from work till Monday or I would give them to you just incase :(, sorry.

If the template's not in there, I'll just go on here and ask if anyone can give 'em to me.

First of all make sure the area you are going to put them is clean! Wipe the area with Rubbing Alcohol. You want to make sure you get any and all wax off the sil. If you don't get a template then wander over to the Dealer and ask to look at the sils of an optioned car.

Good luck. You only get one chance to stick it.

One chance is right. Keep it back from the edge.

Well the good thing is, my Dad has a 2SS Camaro, so my comparison is beside Ewa.

Oh well that will make it easy then. But like the others said "YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE" because once you press it down its there to stay . Good luck.

I'm pretty sure they'll be at my office tomorrow, so I'll pick 'em up, and I'll let y'all know.

So you say rub it down with rubbing alcohol? That won't do anything to the paint?

My dealership gave me a set when I purchased the car. Inside of the box was the following.

-2 Door sills (drivers & passengers side)
-2 cleaning wipes w/ adhesive on them to help the sills stick
-1 set of instructions

What I did is I sat in the car placed the door sill on the area it goes adjusted it to the location I waned it. I marked off the area with blue painters tape cleaned the area with the provided door sill cleaner/adhesive I removed the back clear film off the back of and place the door sill on the sill of the car.

Super east

Sean

I did it, and it was the scariest moment of my life. I'm really good with stuff like this, but this scared the hell out of me. It's looks good. The angle on my side - driver's - is a tiny, tiny, tiny bit off, but it's good. My heart is relaxing now.
