You might want to check out one of our members who bolted on a heartbeat and went 10.81 with drag radials. I promise you that will punish a stock hellcat by about 4 tenths and even if you put some Dr's on it will still kick it to the curb

You will need meth at those power levels.
If you read the FI section at the CF one of the posters goes into detail regarding injector timing at those levels. You can fix everything in the fuel system to provide the flow but the injector is not fast enough at higher RPM when pushing that much fuel and you get puddling on the top of the piston over 5K RPM. Meth was worth about 90rwhp and 45ft lbs of torque on my car. It has a lot of other benefits including a chemical intercooler effect. Only downside is you will have to replace the pump. Meth eats everything. I bought an extra pump($140) and just swap it out when the other starts to leak. On a C7 its in the driver side fender so I'll get puddles under the rocker. It's benefits however to me outweigh having to swap out a pump and send it back for rebuild. You can do 650rwhp with a SC and meth, nothing else. Maybe a little more because the manifolds on the Camaro are supposed to be better than the C7. I'm at 650 and all I have is a Novi 1500(ECS kit) and meth. Everything else is dead stock. |

Run a mix of race gas (like 109 unleaded) and you can set the A/F ratio up to best power and bring the timing up to MBT to make more power. We were making over 610 RWHP with a Maggie Heartbeat @ 7.5 psi boost on an A8 with the stock fuel system in this configuration. I'm not a fan of straight methanol injection - had a dyno fire with methanol once, had no idea the cell was even on fire until the stuff started melting off the walls of the dyno cell. Never want that in my car - especially stored under the hood in an unsealed plastic bottle. People are running straight methanol as a band-aid for the LT1 fuel system but the safe fix is adding a bigger fuel pump and injectors as required. We have just started testing with water injection (<50% meth-non flammable). Water is really what you want anyway, it has the anti-detonate properties that are beneficial to making power on low octane gas. I know that everyone can easily see the inlet air temp decrease with meth, but water controls detonation inside the combustion chamber. I've had great results with straight water, but if you live in a cold climate you need the methanol to prevent the water from freezing. New LT1 fuel system components are already starting to show up on the market, pumps and injectors, which are what you'll need to make the power you're looking for. |
