Drilled & Slotted Rotors
Which aftermarket drilled & slotted rotors is everyone using on their ZL1? It still amazes me that the ZL1 didn't come like this from the factory. Thanks!

They are a gimmick and not needed for added performace.....
Stick to the OEM 2 piece rotors and you'll be fine. Unless you like the looks of the slotted/drilled rotors. Just do yourself a favor and stay away from the drilled rotors as they tend to crack with heavy braking.

Drilled rotor are prone to cracking under hard use. Go for slotted.

I've always heard the cons of drilled and slotted rotors, but I had no problems with them at all on my 2007 Z06. And...GM still puts them on the Corvettes. Like you said KaBoom...they do look a lot better as well.

It's true if you buy the crap off shore ones. Good quality drilled rotors look great, and should perform AS WELL as stock ones but know they will not be any better and your just buying mostly a cosmetic upgrade at best.

I have owned both cross drilled and slotted rotors. I have used Baer bear claws on my T-Bird, AP Racing big brake kit on an 2002 supercharged Escalade, and now Racing Brake slotted rotors on my ZL1. I have never had a major cracking issue with crossed drilled rotors on the kits that had them. Unstable Vic made the definitive reply. I have seen some half assed attempts at cross drilling from some vendors. As stated mainly cosmetic these days as the newer pad materials don't "off gas" as much anymore.

EBC has a one piece design that is made for the CTSv but fits the ZL1 perfectly. I never had a chance to try them. Car Craft or Super Chevy did this swap and claimed good performance. I have a brand new set for sale.
