Bluetooth Phone Audio Choppy, Poor Quality
I am renting a V6 Camaro Convertible this week, and people on the other end of the phone are complaining about the audio being choppy, hard to hear, and loads of background noise (with the top up) when using the Camaro's bluetooth.
Any suggestions? Michael |

This happened again today. The Bluetooth phone audio quality is so bad, people told me to call when I get to a landline. Yelling doesn't help. I can hear them OK so it's not the signal. I've never had this happen before with any car.
The voice recognition system says it can't even recognize what I am saying when I give it the number to dial. It says there is too much background noise. Where's the noise cancellation. It's not like I hav tht top[ down. Ford's Sync doesn't have any problem. I thought I might buy a Camaro, but bad Bluetooth would be a deal breaker. A phone is a necessity for my job, and it has to be handsfree. Michael |

I'd test drive one from a dealer instead of a rental. If this was your car, I'd suggest bringing it to the shop...but since its not, just test drive a new one and see whats up from there. My '13 sounds clear as day

Are you calling individuals that are on Verizon when you get this issue?

Maybe it's just this particular rental, My 2013 sounds very clear using my iphone 5, much better than when I had my 2010 infiniti g37.

I figured out what was going on. Road and vehicle noise overwhelmed the Bluetooth audio system. The convertible top has virtually no noise insulating ability. The car also had tons of road noise. If I was going under 20 mph, things were fine. Get above that, and the Bluetooth became useless, especially on rough road surfaces. Most phones have ambient noise cancellation, but it appears the Camaro Bluetooth does not, or it doesn't work very well.

No problems with my Camaros Bluetooth must be your crappy phone.

Probably not a bluetooth issue. When talking on your phone in the car, you are using the mic/speakers in the car.
Bluetooth is a data connection, it's not affected by ambient noise. |
