Exclamation **Help! Dash applique paint code! HELP!**

Can anyone help out by finding out what the paint code is for the dash applique? I believe it is called graphite silver. I'd like to make sure and then find out the code along with who sells it, where I can get it, etc.

This is a must for those (like me) who don't do the ABL installation properly!!!

Thanks in advance to everyone who can help out!

man, I must have gone through 20 shades of silver/gray today. I will only be able to match it up once I get the code...since you really can't tell till it dries.

yep. Well...I fixed the left side and it looks perfect...maybe too thick. But, we'll see how it turns out once I turn on the lights. Now...off to the right side!

That's the thing that's keeping me from adding the door panels aftermarket to my 1lt, I'm afraid I'll scratch em up. I'm very careful in my care but it's inevitable eventually.

Nahhhh...you two have nothing to worry about.

I taped the edge of my applique (dash insert) to where I wanted to have the paint stop. I worked with it and found where to make the best line to allow the right amount of light. Well, I used electrical tape (which wasn't a bad choice) and went to it.

This is where I grew impatient since it was so late at night. I eventually said screw it, and I grabbed my dremmel tool. Sure, it took off all the paint. But, it also took off the electrical tape, and my "line" was now wavy as hell. It looked horrible in the day light.

You just have to TAKE YOUR TIME and sand it properly. Simple as that. I took my time and resanded the driver side piece and it is PERFECT. However, the passenger side is jacked up. I either need to repaint or buy a new one and start over.

Again, if you take your time to sand properly, you'll be fine. And, just be careful when moving stuff around. You won't scratch anything. It'll be fine.

I'll post up pix in my journal when I'm done and in the DIY ABL thread.

Read the post above yours. We got it figured out with the color being graphite silver 3CJ.

I think I might order new ones and then fool around with the ones I have on there now. With the ideas I have, I want to try it out first, and if it works, you know...
