Corsa NPP vs. Flowmaster NPP
Which one of the two axleback systems has a deeper tone?
And which one has less pop, when letting off the throttle?

Probably not going to help much, butI have yet to hear of anybody around here that bought the Corsa NPP. Corsa is known for having a higher pitch to the exhaust note. That being said I don't think there is a exhaust with a deeper tone then the Flowmaster NPP that I have heard. With the valves open you get a fair amount of pops on decel if you down shift and keep the rpm up higher. With the valves closed it it's pretty civil all around. My only gripe with it is the valves do not seal perfect when closed and you get a little hiss. Not a huge issue and for the money it's overall a pretty good exhaust that is made well.

I believe a lot of the valve exhausts do the same thing which is why most video clips don't show footage of the exhaust with the valves closed and idling from the rear. If I knew the Corsa didn't do this I would buy it but I am not going to spend 1800.00 to find out. Lol

Maybe dealer will fix or replace under warranty? Borla S-type NPP is another popular option.

Unfortunately we have no warranty on the ZL1 here in Europe, the car has to be in the US to be covered..

The corsa sounds awesome in the video and The black tips look great , but I’m with the others , it’s over $2000 for some noise. I like the noise and want the noise but I want it closer to $1500

Looks like Corsa has their own problems with the valves...

I installed the flowmaster NPP about two weeks ago. In track mode it sounds amazing. VERY deep, pretty loud without being crazy loud. It was the exact sound I was looking for.
The valves don't seal great when in stealth mode, so it doesn't sound great with them closed. Slight hiss/rattle I really only put it in stealth when coming down my street, so honestly, who cares what it sounds like. The car gets quiet (pretty big difference between stealth and track) to keep the neighbors happy so it's doing it's job. You also don't hear any of that hiss/rattle when you are driving, it's just from outside the car. I don't like the sound of Corsa or Borla to be honest. Too high pitched for my taste. The AWE's sound most similar to flowmaster but do not offer NPP, so that's why I went flowmaster. |
