Thanks yes, trying my best to keep it under 4K rpm!

No noticeable power increase. It such a light bump it’s hard to really notice. Cat deleted and it was Borla Xpipe. Did not record the sound but lots more burbles and WOT was way louder. I really liked it.

I considered a GT350, it was initially my first choice. But weighing pros and cons, cost, Voodoo oil issues, initial lack of coolers, overall Ford reliability and service feedback, in my gut I know I made the right choice. And on the track, the cars are not that far apart. Still love the sound of that VooDoo though, can't beat that.

I have been researching exhaust and I want to keep NPP. I have a small neighborhood and really kind neighbors with one who is a surgeon and works and sleeps odd hours. The nice thing about the GT350 was in normal mode it was not bad at all and I could start and drive the car without being crazy annoying. I want the same with the SS1LE. Loud when I get on it but still able to use NPP to keep it quiet if needed.

Would love feedback, it seems there are several axleback options, but I was thinking about just adding an X or H Pipe to the existing stock exhaust. I did an Xpipe on my C7 and really liked it (car had NPP). The Camaro seems quieter than my C7 in stock form but I am still breaking it in.
I would think the C7 would be louder due to the hatchback and no wall between the driver and the rear, but I could be wrong.

I have a future SS 1LE purchase planned, and I will certainly be buying Borla's NPP S-type exhaust. It is my favorite exhaust for this car, deeper and very 'muscle-car' compared to the NPP. Borla does a great job, no drone or anything.

Congrats on the 1LE, and welcome!!

I have my windows down a lot, but to your point the Camaro does seem to be better insultated. My C7 had a lot more road noise which likely amplified the exhaust even more.

My Camaro is also brand new and I am in the break in phase. That could easily play a role. I am also coming from a GT350 with the resonators deleted.. In terms of cars I have owned it was very loud. Not sure I want the Camaro to be that loud, but maybe a 15-20% increase. I likely will just start with an Xpipe and go from there. They are typically $300-500 so not too much.

First of all, congrats on your score I'm not a racer and this may sound silly, but if you want more exhaust sound in the car without spending a dime, just fold down the rear seatback or maybe get a rear seat delete, it'll definitely be a surprise.

Absolutely! Drop down the rear seats and have your windows up. Makes a big difference.
I'd also suggest to remove the foam piece in the tube that routes induction noise from the air intake to the cabin.

[QUOTE=ST1LE;10857780]I would think the C7 would be louder due to the hatchback and no wall between the driver and the rear, but I could be wrong.

I compared the exhaust sound of my npp system of my previous Corvette Stingray C7 Z51 and my 6th gen Camaro SS, the one on the Camaro has a more satisfying higher exhaust sound, but still lacking even when I pulled the fuse to keep it open at all times.
Probably an aftermarket axleback would be better.
I already tried the muffler delete way, but it was terrible, waking up my neighbors in the morning, after less than a week I returned it back to stock npp.

I did removed that foam piece, but didn't noticed a big difference in engine sound.

Congrats on scoring the best deal in track cars available today! I know your focus is daily driving but you had mentioned getting out to the track when the time is right. The car is ready to track except for one thing. When its time make sure you get high temp brake fluid. I would recommend SRF. Otherwise she is ready to go.

A few months ago my son took mine out to meet his friend, who borrowed his dad's GT 350, and they took turns driving both. My son really liked the GT 350 and said it was a little faster, but the 1LE more comfortable. I seem to recall his friend liked the transmission better in the 1LE.
