Very good chance there won't be a gen 7 camaro, let alone a Z/28. Sales continue to slump and MB says it's gone.

Rental sales are the hardest hit. Actual individual owner sales are only down around 3-5%.

Link to MB quote of saying the Camaro is gone?

From someone on the inside. Not a big surprise really, they are closing numerous plants, the Impala is axed and they sold more of those than camaro's this year(a car they refuse to advertise) GM is re inventing, and will not continue to build gas cars with declining sales. Hope i'm wrong,in the end it's just biz, but they won't invest that kind of coin in a product that sells less than 40k units globally. Al leaving was the writing on the wall IMO.

Maybe, but on the other hand it comes down to is the car profitable. The benefit for the Camaro is it’s on the Alpha platform shared with a couple other vehicles which helps keep R&D down and allows for overhead cost sharing. I think the impala was cancelled because the Malibu is very similar sized yet selling very well (we actually have one) and they saw know point an investing money into a future impala.

From what i have heard, the gen7 refresh has been placed on indefinite hold, as GM has shifted the majority of it's R&D to solar tiled widgets and autonamous vehicles. Have also heard the gen 6 camaro was the final product for the Alpha platform. They simply have to adapt or perish, especially when the global car mfg has already taken that path( Volvo going all electric) I have also heard there is no new product identified at Lansing after 2022. Suffice it to say the won't be getting any Christmas cards from the White house, they have to show they are on board. Again, IMO Al moving to electric was the first clue. Guess we wait and see..

I will believe it when I see it. I just think that the LT5 will be a Corvette exclusive so the C7 can ride of into the sunset before we have mid engine C8

True. Funny I say the same thing about pure EV cars. I think it’s a bit further away. Good article by R&T on it.

Someone please tell me they are not done with Camaro after Gen-6...I thought I read they were still planning on the next variant. It would make sense since they wont have a front engine/Rear WD sport car with Corvette going mid engine. its 2002 all over again in 2022?
