I appreciate the advice guys. I'll hold off on these until I get close to 100K miles.

Yeah, modern day cars have cut down on maintenance intervals and costs. In fact, I didn't change the spark plugs in my 2007 Cobalt until about 100k miles (or close to it). The only frequent maintenance for a car like this would be oil and tires. I daresay the OEM spark plugs that have been in your car since the beginning could outlast the time you'll have the car (if you choose to let it go before 100k miles).

Hello, I would like to change the original spark plugs with iridium spark plugs.
What do you recommend ? Thank you for your advice !

Your OEM plugs are iridium.

Are the 2018 Camaro 2.0 turbo spark plugs stock iridium spark plugs?
If I replace them with these NGK 90495 Ruthenium HX High, will it be better? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...pt=7212&jsn=16

OK- here's my 2 cents worth- spark plug torque spec is 15ft/lb. It was 10ft/lb on the 5th gen. While the 1/2 turn after stop worked for me for years on aluminum motorcycle heads, it is best to use a Torque wrench not a dork wrench. Do not re-use a crush washer, although our cheap solution was to make it 3/4 turn to tighten if you had to.
Modern manufacturers do not recommend anti-seize on the threads. I do continue to use some dielectric grease on the top part of the ceramic for water-proofing. When checking the gap on iridium plugs be GENTLE. The iridium is just a coating. Very hard but if scratched/damaged the center post on your plug will melt like a cheap birthday candle. And as a side note.. as I remember the 4th gen had a good reason for the long plug change interval- to access the 2 plugs at the back of the engine, you had to lift the motor partially OUT of the car! So it was not an inexpensive tune up and I would suspect that many 4th gens are still running around on their original plugs in the back, irregardless of the mileage! |

I doubt it. Your owner's manual specifies AC Delco 41-125 plugs which are iridium. I don't know whether or not the one you specified is a suitable substitute for the original, but even if it is I'd be surprised if they are any better. Personally I'd need a good reason which includes empirical data if I were to go with something other than what Chevrolet is specifying. |

As others have said, you won't gain anything. Plus I think there's something to be said for the potential downside of damaging something, dropping a socket where you can't get it, and other headaches you will now avoid. |

Just to be safe, I follow the service intervals of a 1950s Beetle. Don’t forget to grease those ball joints!

To the OP, don't regap them. NGK says so right on the box(at least the ones I had last week). If the gap is wrong, refund/replace. And not everything is 100k even on Iridium. Coworker has been complaining about a 2016 Ecoboost Escape that requires new plugs every 35K and he says they usually break on removal. My CX-5 calls for them every 75K, although I assumed the could go longer and they still looked pretty good at 95K. My guess is the GDI carbon buildup with causing issues. Has anyone used Ruthenium plug in anything?
