Platinum Chevrolet Protection Plan Claim
My memory setting for the mirrors isn’t working all of a sudden. The seat settings are fine. The Service Dept said they don’t know if covered until they diagnose it. If it isn’t covered I pay for diagnosis, parts, labor etc.
I called the plan administrator (Wesco) who told me that with my coverage; enhanced electrical & mechanical coverage are fully covered with zero deductible. She said if it is an updating software programming or memory, nothing is covered including diagnosis. I’ve been alerted and done 1 or 2 software updates and done them. Is there a way to check if there are any updates I need to do? Any assistance with this is appreciated. Thanks ! |

While I would not expect installing an update would return them to working as expected, it IS possible that an update you did corrupted something. If so, that can be very hard to diagnose and since it's technically software updates, I would expect it wouldn't be covered by the warranty... You'd probably have to try and twist GM's arm to cover the repair since it would have been them that broke it in the first place.
Assuming it isn't software related... Are you using Driver Profiles? The one time I tried that in my car it screwed everything up and all sorts of stuff wouldn't work right. Since I'm the only driver, I deleted all of the profiles and just set everything without one. |

Note, however, that the 2016-2018 does not allow OTA updates to the system itself, only to infotainment apps. You still need the dealership to connect their tool and update the system software if there are updates, which I highly doubt , I haven't seen anything come up for the pre-refresh platform since early 2019. (It's still possible that a car is on an older version because the owner never took it to the dealership or they forgot to check, though.)
