Curious on alky/meth....

this question will be directly for those already using methanol kits. I don’t drive my car on the daily but still curious on how many miles people are getting out of a meth fill up if using the washer fluid tank? I know this depends on how you drive it, but was wondering if you were taking a road trip if you needed to plan to carry extra? I appreciate the info as always!

This all depends on severals factors, that included but are not limited to?

1. How much meth does the tank hold
2. Meth flow settings
3. How often and how long do you go into boost.

Could be as little as 75-100 when driven extremely hard. It could also last multiple tanks of gas. I drove from my home in NJ to DC and back, covering 2 tanks of gas and barely used the meth cruising on the highway. On the other hand we have organized runs and I needed more after 125-150miles

I've gone through the gallon in my washer res in a day before. I was on a road rally. I now carry another 2 gallon container when I know i'm gonna be laying the hammer. I have had it last well over a week before also. You'll learn when it starts to inject. I just try to keep it under about 7 lbs of boost and it seems to not inject there.

I have the Alky Control kit and we're on level 6 on the controller.

I agree with Jared. Depending on use and where your setting it to start spraying

I ran METH VP M1 for 2 years on my last ride. Always got this same question.

I was running a 1200cc nozzle which is rather large with a 1 gallon res.

If you drive normal {ie not in boost} and do pulls here and there you would be surprised how long it will last. I could go a month and still have 1/2 a gallon left. Hell one month I had 3/4 of a gallon left. That was driving it everyday and doing a handful of pulls through the week.

But if I hit up the track I could make 7-8 track passes and use 1/2 a gallon.

Which does bring up a good question... what size nozzles are most of you using?

I have a gallon reservoir in my trunk and I carry an extra gallon strapped in the trunk at all times. Every time I take the car out I refill the Methanol when I get back to the garage. My system is set to spray at 4+ pounds of boost. I don't remember the nozzle size but it is smaller than it used to be. When I am daily driving my car out on the road I get about a half to 2/3 of a tank of gas before the low meth light comes on. I usually go to a gas station fill the car with gas and add the extra gallon of meth in the tank. If the light comes on after I used the second gallon I drive like grandma and don't go into boost.
